Noong Hunyo 12, 1898. Buhat sa gitnang bintana ng orihinal na tahanan ng mga Aguinaldo ipinahayag ni Heneral Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy, pangulo ng unang Republika ng Pilipinas at puno ng himagsikan laban sa Espanya at sa Amerika, ang kasarinlan ng Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng pagbasa ng Acta de la proclamacion de la independencia del pueblo Filipino na sinulat ni Ambrosio Rianzares Bautista. Sa pagkakataong ito, ang watawat ng Pilipinas na tinahi ni Donya Marcela Marino de Agoncillo sa Hongkong ay opisyal na iwinagayway habang buong pagmamalaking tinutugtog ng banda ng San Francisco de Malabon ang Marcha Nacional Filipina (ngayo’y Pambansang Awit ng Pilipinas) na kinatha ni Julian Felipe.<br><br>Ang tandang pangkasaysayang ito ay iniaalay ng Sambayanang Pilipino sa pagdiriwang ng ikasandaang taon ng pagpapahayag ng kasarinlan ng Pilipinas. Inalisan ng tabing ng Kagalang-galang na Pangulong Fidel Valdez Ramos noong Hunyo 12, 1898. (Tagalog)

On June 12, 1898, Philippine independence was proclaimed from the center window of the original house of the family of General Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy, President of the First Philippine Republic and leader of the revolution against Spain and America. Through the reading of the Acta de la proclamacion de la independencia del pueblo Filipino by Ambrosio Rianzares Bautista. During this occasion, the Philippine flag made in Hongkong by Doña Marcela Marino de Agoncillo was officially unfurled as the band of San Francisco de Malabon proudly played the Marcha Nacional Filipina (now the Philippine National Anthem) composed by Julian Felipe.<br><br>This historical marker is installed by the grateful Filipino people in observance of the centennial of the proclamation of Philippine independence. Unveiled by His Excellency President Fidel Valdez Ramos on June 12, 1998. (English)
