I'll tend to argue that an award instance is an individual award. Any time sometimes recieves it would then be an award(ing) instance. Then for example the Juno awards would be some type of award, per Help:Classification . A solution to have something to use P31 for those kind of items would be to have a metaclass like "Periodic award type" (say, a better name is required) and the definition to candidate for

< Juno Award > instance of (P31) miga < Periodic award >

or the like would be "type of award that is given periodically by the same organisation". Would that be OK with you ?

That's also a good solution. They only reason I added the P31 values to the items you removed them from is that any item with a nominated for (P1411) statement, also needs a instance of (P31)  subclass of (P279) award (Q618779) or instance of (P31)  award (Q618779).
