Request reason:
I believe the abuse filter needs fixing as I just got a ban from Special:AbuseFilter/5 and I do not think I did anything that warrants a three month ban (I was updating/fixing source code repository URL (P1324) URLs, especially for software hosted with Mercurial (Q476543)). In any event, I would appreciate an unblock. Thank you. 50.53.1.33 00:44, 18 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
Unblock reason:
Hi. You are right, your edits were legit. So I unblocked you. Generally adding bitbucket links should be legit. It's a widely used code repository, even many Wikidata tools and bots use it. I don't know why User:Wiki13 added it to the abuse filter's spam blacklist in 2013, but though there might have been a spam attack from some particular project using bitbucket, I assume it's over now, or it has to be handled manually rather than blindly blocking everybody who tries to add bitbucket links. Thus I will remove bitbucket.org from this filter. Sorry for the circumstances! Have fun editing Wikidata. YMS (talk) 09:05, 18 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

This template should be archived normally.

Unfortunately, the filter is private so I cannot see the contents of the link you provided but I appreciate the filter update and thank you for the unblock. 50.53.1.33 11:21, 18 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hello, sorry for the late reply, but I don't check my notifications from other wiki's often. From what I still know about that period of time I recall Wikidata indeed having problems with spambots a lot. As administrator at that time I probably added the site to prevent more spam. I would say YMS is quite in his assumption and therefor I think his unblock would be more than justified. I'm sorry for any inconvenience you had due to actions which were neccesary in the past, but not anymore. --Wiki13 talk 10:23, 13 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
