Creating properties edit

Hi!

It seems that you have tried to create a property "New Zealand legislation ID" at Q61945878. In Wikidata we have a distinction between items and properties, and what you created is an item, so you will not be able to use it as a property as you probably expected. To get this created as a property, you need to propose it: see Wikidata:Property_proposal/Authority_control. If you need any help with that process, let me know.

Keep up the good work! − Pintoch (talk) 13:16, 4 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Following my message above I am deleting this item now. Again, feel free to propose it for creation at Wikidata:Property_proposal/Authority_control. Thank you for your contributions otherwise! − Pintoch (talk) 14:10, 26 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō edit

I'm curious that you've entered what looks like a Māori language string as the English label value of Q100701186; added an English language string as an English alias; and not added anything as a Māori label. Am I missing something when I think that the Māori language string might sit better as a Māori label, and the English language string as an English label, so that we, you know, put the language strings into the their respective labels? --Tagishsimon (talk) 08:19, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

See, for instance:
SELECT ?item ?en_label ?mi_label WHERE {
  ?item wdt:P31 wd:Q28564.
  ?item wdt:P17 wd:Q664 .
  optional {?item rdfs:label ?en_label . filter(lang(?en_label)="en") }
  optional {?item rdfs:label ?mi_label . filter(lang(?mi_label)="mi") }
}
Try it!

ORES tool for wikidata edit

Hi@David Nind: I tried putting importScript("User:EpochFail/ArticleQuality.js"); on https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:MargaretRDonald/commons.js but have no idea how to activate anything. Also checked the ORES documentation but found nothing helpful. Is there any chance you can talk me through it. Regards, MargaretRDonald (talk) 22:03, 6 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, @David Nind:. And that has solved the problem. Regards, MargaretRDonald (talk) 03:21, 7 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
