Happy new year Jklamo, why did you remove the Greek name in MUL on the legal form Public limited company (Q130233775) from Cyprus? Especially without adding a Greek version. I think it's a good idea to use the official name (P1448) as MUL-Name for county specific legal forms. Best NGOgo (--> join WikiProject Nonprofits!) 19:53, 1 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi, the problem is that Greek languages use Greek script (Greek alphabet) which is non-Latin. I don't think it's appropriate to use a non-Latin script as a mul label. But the problem, of course, is that we lack rules for using a mul label. I apologize for not adding Greek vesion as a Greek label. Jklamo (talk) 15:47, 5 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
That's a good question. I would guess most people from non-latin-alphabeth-countries would disagree. Perhaps a good question for the chat or a request for comment. My use would be to allow this for names and mainly local used items. And of course it's a good reason to translate it into English. Looking into the top 10 most spoken first-languages we can find Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic, Bengali, Russian and Japanese, I guess the Latin alphabet is not as dominant as we would think. Popis a datum narození.

Removal of P625

edit

Hi Jklamo, you removed many coordinate location (P625) Instances of companies. Please note that several items are not only companies but also subclasses of factory (Q83405) which should have Geocoordinates! Also, the Nearby function does not find items that have coordinates at other entries than P625 making companies invisible in this view, I miss that information. -- Gerd Fahrenhorst (talk) 04:55, 3 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

The problem is mixing companies and factories in one item. This is not good, each has different characteristics (and thus properties), also a company can run several factories and vice versa a factory can be run by several companies in succession. In this case, it is better to create separate items for companies and factories. Jklamo (talk) 10:16, 3 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
Not sure I understand why you're deleting coordinate location (P625) from notable shops like C Lidgate (Q16255991) but I've restored it Piecesofuk (talk) 16:17, 3 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
