Minecraft Mobs

Hello! I support the creation of the Minecraft mobs, but should there be duplicates for the different games? Such as Vindicator (Q114353780) and Vindicator (Q114353677). wd-Ryan (Talk/Edits) 16:40, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

Nope! I've been using a script to help me grab pages from the Minecraft wiki and merge items like that. I must've missed those two last night. I'll go ahead and merge those right now, thanks for catching that! Keplersj (talk) 18:00, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

Would you mind using instance of (P31) video game mod (Q865493) instead? Using instance of (P31) Minecraft mod (Q111369260) feels unnecessarily redundant. @Keplersj:--Trade (talk) 18:38, 23 October 2022 (UTC)

Hi @Trade! I'm trying to understand where you're coming from. What makes instance of Minecraft mod unnecessarily redundant where instance of Minecraft mob isn't? They both describe a specific class of a facet of Minecraft, subclass the more general superclass that exists, and have specific instances from the game and community that link to external wiki sources. Both of the specific classes add additional data about the class, and link out to external wikis for more information.

I'm just trying to understand where the line is. If the preference is to make these items instances of the more general superclass then wouldn't it make sense to follow this standard across all of the instances of Minecraft mod and Minecraft mob? Keplersj (talk) 05:09, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

It could be related to how we don't use instance of sandbox game (Q25397095), despite it being a subclass of video game. Kind of weird. -wd-Ryan (Talk/Edits) 16:16, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

Malformed Fandom article ids

Just to let you know I fixed a bunch of the Minecraft mod items that had broken fandom article ids, for example https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q114396149&diff=prev&oldid=1754627087

I may have missed some of them as I was watching the bot that adds the extra metadata to see which ones it was only adding subject named as to DogsRNice (talk) 15:09, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
