November 2022 edit

Deleted empty item edit

I have deleted Q115243787 because it was empty and wasn’t being used anywhere. An item is empty if it does not have any claims or sitelinks. Unfortunately, such items are not useful to Wikidata, and they are normally deleted. If you were planning to return to this item later in order to complete it, please let me know as I can restore it if appropriate. Remember that all items are expected to demonstrate notability and, although this might not apply in this case, we strongly discourage editors from creating items where they have a conflict of interest, for example about themselves or their employers. FOAF the ontology vs FOAF the file format edit

Thanks for your work contributing to Wikidata. I noticed the recent merge of FOAF the ontology and FOAF the file format. In my opinion these require separate items. Would you be willing to undo the merge? YULdigitalpreservation (talk) 16:33, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

@YULdigitalpreservation Thank you for your suggestion, but both things are the same in my opinion - both have the same name and link for the same documentation and this documentation says about data format based on xml so I can do revert but explain me first in details difference between both. I have check both again and I still think is the same thing but description for one of them is wrong. Krzysztof Popławski (talk) 18:29, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Identyfikator GND ≠ identyfikator DNB edit

Cześć Krzysztof, please use GND ID (P227) for humans, institutions etc. DNB is only for books (editions). Example: Q9380725#P227. --Kolja21 (talk) 14:51, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Kolja21 Thank You for information. Krzysztof Popławski (talk) 15:12, 23 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Call for participation in a task-based online experiment edit

Dear KrzysztofPoplawski,

I hope you are doing well,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I am working on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender model that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our model based on your previous edits.

Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published in a research venue.

The experiment should take no more than 15 minutes, and it will be held next week.

If you agree to participate in this study, please either contact me at kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfA1wfdBfCRlcG3WhDyc-V8lzgPNx3fDFCNXkyn4CSwahXZ_A/viewform?usp=sf_link

Then, I will contact you with the link to start the study.

For more information about my project, please read this post: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Kholoudsaa

In case you have further questions or require more information, don't hesitate to contact me through my mentioned email.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.
