Raffaello Fabretti (Q788614) edit

Hi,

Could you check the date of birth (P569) on Raffaello Fabretti (Q788614)? The two values are nearly one century appart, that's very weird. Is it really the same person in Der Neue Pauly and in the Gemeinsame Normdatei?

Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 12:23, 17 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, they are the same persons, because the wrote the same books. The GND takes mostly only one time from one place the information. For such persons, this information is not always valide. The Neue Pauly is "fresh" research, so the dates there are the actual most valides. Marcus Cyron (talk) 12:28, 17 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
AH, OK, now I see the problem. Ofcourse it is "1620", not "1720". The 7 was a typo. Thanks for the information. Marcus Cyron (talk) 12:31, 17 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the correction. I changed the rank of this declaration from deprecated to preferred. Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 14:02, 17 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

filmography (P1283) edit

Adding individual films as a filmography (P1283) claim is against the constraints for that property. The property is used to link the filmography item and not individual films. See Property talk:P1283 for the constraints. The constraint violation was the reason for me to remove them. You can see here that they violate current restraints. Simply nonsense. Marcus Cyron (talk) 15:52, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Roman consul (Q40779) edit

Hello Markus, I am not about what you had in mind creating Roman consul (Q23041861), but that does not look quite right. The item about Roman consuls is Roman consul (Q40779). German and Alemannic links are somewhat off, but other links and statements are right. Beside, "consul" should not have instance of (P31)politician (Q82955) which in Wikidata would mean that it referes to a single individual named Consul". I have merged Roman consul (Q23041861) and Roman consul (Q40779). If you think de and als links are a problem, you can create another item about for the Consulate. --Zolo (talk) 08:18, 20 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Zolo, I had to realize, that the whole article family about roman Consuls are very problematic categorized here on Wikidata. You are right, my started system is not really good - but all the others are too very bad. I think since days, what could be better than the actual system... on hold edit

HI I will stop to discuss. --FocalPoint (talk) 17:24, 29 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

These people are classified as non-fiction writer (Q15980158) in de:Kategorie:Sachbuchautor. So I do not see should we not put in these statements. In fact they are described as such, several of them, in the de-language description, see Q2660518, Q278855 (Sachbuchautor).--FocalPoint (talk) 17:33, 29 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

The german discription is "Sachbuchtautor". This is simply false. In German we have two different kind of non-fiction writers. People who write books about cooking, gardening, Astrology and so on. These people are "Sachbuchautoren". The others are "Fachbuchautoren". Scientists, who are writing scientific books. It is impossible to put my friend Volker Fadinger in here - he never published a book. And my aunt Ursel Hochmuth never wrote a book about cooking or gardening. She was a scientist. Such catagorization would destroy there ruputation. Marcus Cyron (talk) 17:44, 29 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Wilhelm Hölscher (Q22898226) edit

Hi,

I have absolutely zero idea who is Wilhelm Hölscher (Q22898226), what is for sure is that Wilhelm Hölscher (Q22898226) can't be is own grand-father. I understand it could be frustating but I prefer to remove something I'm sure is wrong and leave nothing than leaving a error.

A short look - and you would have found it. Because it's in all the other articles of the family correct ;). Marcus Cyron (talk) 14:33, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Ideally I sould have done but I didn't had time this morning, and I don't know if the other items are correct or not (there is no reference) as it seems to be a lot of mistakes in this familly (I saw at least Uvo Hölscher (Q101307) whi is both brother and uncle of Wilhelm Hölscher (Q22898226)... but I leaved it as I don't know which one is who...). Correcting mistake edit

Hi,

Thank you for the correction on Ernst Ehwald (Q1357940) and in fine I totally agree with your comment « it's better to change the mistake to the correct item » but sadly I have no knowledge to do the correction and I couldn't know if a correction is even possible, most of the time there is no possible correction. So even if it's not ideal, I still think it's better to remove an error than to leave it (especially when the error is so obvious), so (sadly or not) I'll keep going.

An example, I remove the self-linking on Filmfestival Max Ophuels Prize (Q1414673) (that you did when you did the merging in 2015) maybe there is an other walue to add instead, I'll leave it to you. Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 09:53, 15 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your modifications on Hetty Goldman edit

Hi, it's nice to see a strong Infobox on fr.wp for Hetty Goldman (Q1616306), thanks to you ! GrandCelinien (talk) 13:14, 10 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
