Commons importing

I would like to request you stop the Commons importing your bot has been doing until we've had a discussion on Commons links. As much as I disagree with Ivan, he does note that other bots have been running, without some sort of discussion. --Izno (talk) 17:59, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

Ah, so you've got questions now? :D Suddenly, the import might not be uncontroversial!

That might be the established practice for Commons, but does it make sense here? What happens when you've got Commons categories linking to WP/WV articles? (Especially regarding how we classify things via instance of (P31) and subclass of (P279)!) Ivan has been importing those links, yet it isn't clear to me (and seems not to be a consensus viewpoint at WD:Wikimedia Commons) that those should be linked. Why is that an issue? Because there are bots importing any kind of link without an actual plan that is settled by consensus (here)! Do you approve of his bots' imports? If so, why? If not, why not? Etc. etc. etc. I mean, what I would do is probably different than what he's doing without consensus, which may be different from what you're doing (without seeming consensus). It's part of the bots policy that all bots operate with a consensus. Where's yours? Etc. :^) --Izno (talk) 20:41, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi Multichill, I'm sorry, I was thinking that it was an unnecessary redundant information. I wanted to correct the cases where the WIkivoyage's banner isn't shown on Commons commons:Commons:Village_pump#A_tool_to_make_Commons.27_categories_sexier. Otourly (talk) 15:11, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
