Need some help getting started? Here are some pages you can familiarize yourself with:

  • Introduction – An introduction to the project.
  • Wikidata tours – Interactive tutorials to show you how Wikidata works.
  • Community portal – The portal for community members.
  • User options – including the 'Babel' extension, to set your language preferences.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask on Project chat. If you want to try out editing, you can use the sandbox to try. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and become an active editor for Wikidata.

Best regards!

Great to see you're writing for Wikidata:Europeana Art History Challenge. Multichill (talk) 19:43, 20 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Evening; Red Tree edit

Sorry, but I was a few hours ahead of you with the Mondrian. Please don't create unnecessary work for us. At first I thought that you didn't know the article was already created, but your edit to the item shows you actually made the effort to delete the original article. Why? Jane023 (talk) 08:12, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

there is a lag in the table code, so i could not see your work. i would suggest relying on tables and translation duplicate detection of names will result in duplication of effort. see also en:The Tower of Babel (Bruegel). it's all good. Sudowoodoo (talk) 17:21, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
OK thanks for the heads up. I removed my points for the Mondrian - it's all yours! Jane023 (talk) 19:16, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
that's funny, so did i, is this an orphan euro credit? Sudowoodoo (talk) 19:19, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Well if you don't claim them, then they just go to WittyLama :) Jane023 (talk) 20:17, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
that crafty aussie. i'm just keeping up with the bulgarians; it will take quite a lot of new article writing to catch vigneron, that media star. Sudowoodoo (talk) 20:24, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Europeana Art History Challenge - update edit

Thank you for signing up and participating in the Europeana Art History Challenge!
I have just published an update to the project on the mailing list which you might be interested in:
https://lists.wikimedia.bg/pipermail/europeana-280-challenge/2016-April/000042.html
You can also subscribe to the list (if you're not already) for further updates and conversation between participants. Good luck and happy translating! Sincerely, Wittylama (talk) 14:20, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello again. I've just published my report for the "This month in GLAM" newsletter, which 'namechecks' you as one of the most active people in the project: m:GLAM/Newsletter/April_2016/Contents/Special_story. I hope you like it.
I couldn't help but notice how prolific you've been in this project, how many quite detailed comments you've made on some of the discussions around the various talkpages, and yet you're a newly-created user account. Are you sure you're a new editor? I would have emailed you, but you didn't provide an email address to your login :-) Wittylama (talk) 12:52, 10 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
you are very kind, (mentioned in dispatches) it is all workman-like stuff, nothing too hard, given your translator launcher, and tool. - stubs, while denigrated, are place holders until the expert editors arrive. they seem to dislike adding new articles, and prefer growing existing ones. you said i'm new, so i must be, although we last met in Vienna, and previously in Mexico City, London, and Washington, D.C. - cheers. Sudowoodoo (talk) 20:03, 12 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Well, "new" in the sense that your user account is newly created - just over a month ago, but clearly not "new" in the sense of knowing your way around the wikiverse.... So I look forward to meeting you for the first time/again, and maybe you'll be less mysterious in-person :-) Wittylama (talk) 13:50, 17 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello again... as you are certainly one of the most active participants of the EAHC project, and the competition itself is concluding in a few days, it is likely you'll be one of the official 'winners' of the challenge. Now... I see that on the 'sign up' page you've marked that you wish to 'waive prizes', but does that also mean you do not wish to be acknowledged as one of the winners in any reports? Also, no doubt I'll be writing a for the Europeana blog, and also for my own - in that I'll be asking the most active people about: 1) their motivations for being involved in the Challenge, 2) about the interesting things they might have learned in the course of the work, and 3) which is the most interesting artwork from another country (in your case, not from Belgium) that you've written about? Would you be willing/interested in being part of that, or would you prefer to remain mysterious? :-) If you'd be willing to participate in that, but don't want to share your email address by using the 'email this user' function, then perhaps you could answer those questions here? User:Spinster is also producing a short video documentary about the whole project and as the most prolific EN.WP contributor, it makes eminent sense to include you, if you're interested. Wittylama (talk) 20:14, 22 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Umm... I just noticed this https://tools.wmflabs.org/xtools/autoblock/?user=Sudowoodoo While I honestly do appreciate the considerable amount of work that you've put into the project and thank you for it (and I acknowledge that right from the beginning you've 'waived prizes'), I don't think it would be appropriate for me to declare an indefinitely-blocked sockpuppet account to be a winner. This is especially so because I am coordinating this project on behalf of Europeana which, unsurprisingly, would not want to support editing behaviour that is against policy. I hope you understand. Wittylama (talk) 20:52, 22 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
thank you for the notice, since none is forthcoming otherwise. i stand by my work. i've already won enough awards, and don't shop at amazon. i count the actions admins take as a badge of honor. i would not go to the bank on ip range innuendo though, ask user:smallbones about that.
i think you'll find with editor decline, it will only be people editing at editathons, and blocked people. with that, i'll see you around. Sudowoodoo (talk) 21:40, 22 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Peace Treaties in Art 30 x 30 Challenge edit

Hi Sudowoodo! I am Iñaki LL, a Wikipedian in residence at the San Telmo Museoa, Donostia-San Sebastián. We are holding the Peace Treaties in Art 30 x 30 Challenge in collaboration with Donostia-San Sebastián European Capital of Culture 2016 with a view to fostering a culture of peace and based on its Peace Treaty exhibitions at different city locations.

Your outstanding participation in the recent, similar Europeana contest grabbed my attention, and we would really love to have all your good wikipedic and artistic know-how poured into this inspirational challenge :p The contest will reach its climax in an edit-a-thon we will be holding on July 9, and still several weeks to go up to the 17 July deadline! Hopefully see you virtually or on site, all contributions welcome! Iñaki LL (talk) 21:36, 25 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
