Merging items

Hallo Thiotrix,

For merging items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" to automatically place a request to delete the emptied page. This way of nominating makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.

Taxon synonym

Hello Thiotrix,

I see you have added taxon synonym to both Ionopsidium acaule and Cochlearia acaulis, which is a symmetrical relationship. However, taxon synonym is not a symmetrical property: "taxon synonym" is put in the item with the correct name and refers to a synonym (a not-correct name). It should really be referenced: "this is a synonym according to this reference". - Brya (talk) 16:29, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

Thiotrix's edit-war at Q3761162 and Q165437 – Beterraba

It's a very unpleasant experience to see you starting this quite unnecessary presumably not so reasonable edit-war on Q3761162 and Q165437. The Portuguese "Beterraba" definitely translates to the English "root beet". I have no understanding for your arguing. Hello Johayek, maybe you have misunderstood my english, if you see this as an edit war. It was not meant as this. The pt. article Beterraba is about the genus Beta and lists several species. So it is correctly linked here at the Page Q3761162, which is for the genus. If you think, the article has a wrong name, then you may move it at pt.wikipedia to a better name like "Beta (genus)". Then the portugese name for beetroot is free and you can create the pt. beetroot article. This you can link to Q165437. --Thiotrix (talk) 15:14, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

Salsola kali vs. Kali tragus

Hey Thiotrx, mit Deiner Rückgängigmachung bin ich inhaltlich nicht einverstanden. Ich hatte lediglich bei einem WP-Artikel, bei dem in der Taxobox steht, dass er über eine Pflanze der Gattung Kali geht, die falsch Überschrift "Art der Gattung Salsola" angepasst. Das rückgängig zu machen, ist inhaltlich falsch. Dass WD da nicht nachkommt, ist etwas anderes. --Bernhard Ganter (talk) 05:58, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

Hallo @Bernhard Ganter:,

deine Irritation beruht zum einen auf der speziellen Eigenschaft von Wikidata, für jeden Namen, auch für homotypische Synonyme, ein eigenes Item anzulegen. Damit nun alle Interwikis verschiedener Sprachen, die dasselbe Taxon betreffen, miteinander verlinkt sind, werden sie nur bei einem der Items zusammengefasst, hier eben bei Salsola tragus anstelle von Item Kali tragus Q21715260.

Zweitens war der Name Kali nur von 2007 bis 2017 in Gebrauch und ist jetzt nicht mehr aktuell. Das liegt daran, dass die Gattung Salsola 2017 einen neue Typusart bekommen hat, nämlich Salsola kali, und somit jetzt alle Arten von Kali wieder zu Salsola gehören. Näheres siehe bei Wikispecies unter https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Salsola, die wesentliche Quelle ist Wilson, K.L. 2017. (Report of the General Committee: 20. Taxon 66(4): 981. doi: 10.12705/664.15). Weil ich die zahlreichen nötigen Änderungen erst bei Wikispecies editiert habe, damit sie allen Sprachen zur Verfügung stehen, bin ich bislang noch nicht dazu gekommen, die ganzen Artikel in der deutschen Wikipedia zu aktualisieren. In den deutschsprachigen Gattungsartikeln von Kali und Salsola hatte ich aber schon auf den geplanten Typuswechsel hingewiesen.

Und drittens hätte ich es höflicher gefunden, wenn du erst meine Antwort abgewartet hättest, ehe du einen Editwar beginnst und meinen Revert wiederum revertierst. Gruß von --Thiotrix (talk) 08:43, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

Gut, mich hat nur gestört, dass die betreffende WP-Seite in sich widersprüchlich war. Wenn Du das langfristig bereinigst und dabei sogar die beste Nomenklatur verwendest, bin ich völlig einverstanden. Ich will da auch gern Deine Höflichkeitsanforderungen erfüllen, es wäre allerdings nett, wenn da Gegenseitigkeit herrscht; Du hattes mich ja auch nicht kontaktiert.
