Head of Government edit

Sorry to bother you, but I've been dealing with constraint violations, and I wish to inform you that head of government (P6) is specifically for people who have held the office, while the office itself goes with office held by head of government (P1313). Thanks, and have a nice day! Popcorndude (talk) 15:31, 1 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Popcorndude: April Fool, right?
What do you mean "constraint violations"? There don't seem to be any constraints, any wikipage makes it in, and there is nothing in the description of the property which limits it to people (nor in the validation).
If true, this would confirm Wikipedia as the biggest load of ordure ever in the world.
How many people have this tag applied? Not many I'm sure, because very few officeholders have an article on themselves. On the other hand, even the smallest settlement in wikipedia has a headman. Therefore it makes complete sense to give the people a low-numbered tag (P6) and the location a high number (P1313), indicating the mind set of the developers of this abortion, unconcerned with the real world.
How do you propose changing all occurrences of "Mayor"/"governor", about 200 altogether for my involvement?--Unbuttered Parsnip (talk) 00:09, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Property_talk:P6 lists the constraints and [[1]] can be used to add a particular statement to a large number of items automatically. If you happen to have a list of the items you were adding this property to, I would be happy to do it for you. If they all happen to have the same instance of (P31) I am quite able to make a list of them. If you confirm that all the ones with mayor have instance of (P31): municipality of the Philippines (Q24764) I will do the correction myself. Popcorndude (talk) 02:30, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
here is a list of all items (1490) with instance of (P31): municipality of the Philippines (Q24764) which I can easily add office held by head of government (P1313): mayor to. Popcorndude (talk) 03:22, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
I see you have removed property claim P6 from a large number / all offenders. If you had a list there, you could use it again. Basically, yes, for all items with instance of (P31): municipality of the Philippines (Q24764) but also instance of (P31): city of the Philippines (Q104157) add office held by head of government (P1313): mayor, then for all instance of (P31): barangay (Q61878) add office held by head of government (P1313): Punong Barangay; and for all instance of (P31): province of the Philippines (Q24746) add office held by head of government (P1313): governor. Unbuttered Parsnip (talk) 05:33, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
The majority of municipality of the Philippines (Q24764)'s will probably be dealt with in the next ~3 hours. I'll deal with the other groups as soon as I get a chance. Popcorndude (talk) 12:23, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
I have completed all of the categories listed. Popcorndude (talk) 20:44, 3 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Popcorndude: That's great thanks. This all actually had quite a favourable outcome, because it forced a major new approach to {{Infobox settlement}} (not by me). One point – I couldn't work out what that autolist tool was about, didn't know what the fields were. I'd like to know for future reference, as there will be other fields to blanket-add in the future. -- Unbuttered Parsnip (talk) 00:14, 4 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
I haven't quite figured out what all of the fields do, but here's the documentation for the WDQ field, and here's a somewhat more self-explanatory interface. As an example, what I did for the barangay (Q61878)'s was
claim[31:61878] and noclaim[1313:7260481]
in the WDQ field, and
P1313:Q7260481
in the CONTROLS box. Popcorndude (talk) 01:39, 4 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Philippine locations edit

Hey. Thank for your enormous work on Philippine locations. You really improved many items. But one remark: ISO 3166-2 code (P300) should only be put to items about provinces, I started to remove them from other subdivisions. --Pasleim (talk) 11:47, 8 April 2015 (UTC) @Pasleim: What nonsense. How do you propose providing that information within {{Info ox settlement}} with no wikidata access to higher domains? 112.198.64.46 12:05, 8 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Just because arbitrary access is not yet provided, it doesn't mean you can add everything to each item. If you want to provide ISO 3166-2 on an article about a city you have to type it in on Wikipedia. --Pasleim (talk) 12:14, 8 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
