Motivation edit

Looking to increase the amount of open data available about ships built in Aberdeen. As a WikiMedia UK Trainer in Scotland, I have been working with volunteers and staff of the Aberdeen Galleries and Museums Service to begin this work at the event on 11th and 12th April 2020. There we created a scraper, with permission, to begin harvesting data from their database. We are carrying out data matching and will soon be in a position to upload 1000s of records via Quick Statements, and to enhance other WikiData records with additional properties.
