Motivation edit

In most countries, a government appointed agency is responsible for allocating identifiers to licensed radio stations. This property proposal aims to allow adding of these broadcast parameters and identifiers to Wikidata.

Broadcast Radio Bearer URI is a mechanism of combining identifiers together into a single composite identifier for the transmission. Radio stations may have multiple bearers.

For example the bearer URI of fm:ce1.c479.09580 is contracted using:

fm: FM Radio Transmission
ce1: Global Country Code for UK
C479: Ofcom (UK agency) allocated PI Code for Capital Radio
09580: Transmission frequency of 95.8 Mhz
