Motivation
editIt will allow to link items about Emacs to their article in emacswiki.org. One issue is how to deal with different languages of the same EmacsWiki article: lists each localised article as a different value of the property as shown in examples 2 and 3? I set the allowed values to ".*" because I don't know if there are forbidden symbols that can't be used in emacswiki.org article titles. Lore.mazza004 (talk) 19:15, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

- Comment How many IDs are we talking about here? And which proportion would you say warrant a Wikidata entry? Trying to determine whether this would not better be served by something like described at URL (P973) :-) Jean-Fred (talk) 20:53, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose I am an avid emacs user and that site is a great source of knowledge, but its structure is encyclopedic, not a list of items, so it's not suitable for linking from WD. Eg if you look a t https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/SiteMap, the majority of pages (eg Learning Emacs, Learn Emacs Lisp) are not linkable. Very specific pages that describe various ways or packages applicable to a topic (eg Spelling, Completion) are also not linkable. Pages that describe a single piece of code that however is not a package, are also not linkable, eg https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/AutoInsertHeaderGuards.
- If you want to help emacs users, propose props to link to emacs package repositories (ELPA, MELPA, Marmalade etc). (https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Search&search=property:emacs and https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Search&search=property:elpa find nothing) --Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 15:36, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
