Motivation

The site Treccani.it hosts the text of the original "Enciclopedia Italiana di scienze, lettere ed arti" (1929-1937) under the "namespace" _(Enciclopedia-Italiana). The aim of the property is to distinguish between this one and "Enciclopedia Treccani" (that, eventually, should be renamed in "Enciclopedie on line", like it is written in the website), that, as the name says, is born online (2011).

They obviously are two distinct things (e.g. the two articles about Germany: [1][2]), and I think we should keep the two respective properties separated. --Horcrux92 (talk) 10:35, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion
  •   Comment if I understand correctly, these id's can be entered now using Treccani ID (P3365) but for many of items we could end up with 2 (or 3 or more?) id's? I'm not sure this is really a problem, I think the intent with Treccani ID (P3365) was to cover everything on treccani.it. ArthurPSmith (talk) 20:04, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The fact is that they are two completely different works. Like for the DBI, for example, we have a distinct property, even if it is hosted always in treccani.it. Obviously it is technically possible to insert all the different encyclopedias under the same property, but I think the most-known ones should have distinct properties. The goal is to have a precise and non-ambiguous ontology. --Horcrux92 (talk) 09:21, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If the two are completely different made the description of this property could make it clearer which one is meant, so it won't be used wrongly? ChristianKl (talk) 17:30, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • "Enciclopedia Italiana" (properly Enciclopedia Italiana di scienze, lettere ed arti) is the original name of the papery encyclopedia, and of its transposition online of 2015. Example
    • "Enciclopedie online" (P3365) is the born-on-Internet Treccani's encyclopedia of 2011. Example
The description above is already correct; P3365's description must be corrected only if it will be decided to create this new property.--Horcrux92 (talk) 10:44, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  •   Support Having a distinct property for this particular branch of Treccani.it is a good idea. Jonathan Groß (talk) 09:26, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  •   Question Why is this taking so much time? --Horcrux92 (talk) 17:11, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The disambigution with Treccani ID (P3365) is unclear in the description of this property. As far as the name goes, it's not clear to me why it's not labeled "Enciclopedia Italiana ID". ChristianKl (talk) 10:40, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the label should be "Enciclopedia Italiana ID". I've changed the proposal schema.
    To sum up:
    • Property "P3365"
      (new) label: "Enciclopedie online ID"
(new) description: "identifier for the Enciclopedie online on Treccani website"
    • New property
      label: "Enciclopedia Italiana ID"
description: "identifier for the Enciclopedia Italiana on Treccani website"
    --Horcrux92 (talk) 13:31, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Given those descriptions I still fear that people will be frequently confuse the two. ChristianKl (talk) 19:47, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Is this relevant? Does the fact that two properties just appear similar prevent us from distinguish them? --Horcrux92 (talk) 10:13, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, for DBI (that is alwais on Treccani's website) we have a distinct property. We don't want to create a property for "Enciclopedia Italiana" (that has even a greater history and importance!) only because its name may be confused with another one? If that is the problem, we can use a more detailed description like «identifier for the Enciclopedia Italiana on Treccani website; the URL ends with "(Enciclopedia-Italiana)"» or something similar. And we will also use the property different from (P1889). --Horcrux92 (talk) 10:18, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
