Discussion
edit- Comment Why not just have a single VIAF property? Why split it up? The URL scheme is the same for all the categories. --Ysangkok (talk) 19:46, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Ysangkok: Most national props have their own databases and websites but some don't yet. For those we use VIAF as "formatter URL", but when a national database gets exposed on the web, we'll move the VIAF URL to "third party formatter URL" --Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 13:30, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

- Support the inclusion of Wikidata properties for the authority file identifiers from every VIAF component, as the rationale for the creation of an international authority file included the acknowledgment that none of the world’s national libraries, and other major cultural institutions, can individually lay claim to full authoritative coverage of creators of language material, as well as the individual, corporate, and geographic entities which are the subjects of their works. __Dcflyer (talk) 07:57, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
