- Motivation
The number can be used to indicate the relative narrative time in which a story happens. For instance the novel Cloak (Q5134744) (5462.1) happens roughly between The Empath (Q3487409) (5121.5) and For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky (Q3488452) (5476.3). The production/release order of Star Trek: The Original Series (Q1077)-Episodes does not reflect the narrative order. Stardate might be a better indicator in some cases.--Shisma (talk)
- Discussion
- My first instinct is against creating a Star Treck specific property. My second is to ask whether there's a way to generalize it. Are there other time systems taht work similarly and could be also covered by this way? ChristianKl (talk) 17:37, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- I had the same thought. but I discovered P1112 (P1112) which is also very specific. --Shisma (talk) 18:19, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- I created a property deletion request for P1112 (P1112). ChristianKl (talk) 19:38, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- There is just no relation with a Pokedex number. I think it makes sense to use a quantity property for Stardate as Wikidata time properties can't hold this calendar.

- Comment how about changing this to "date in fictional calendar" and using the unit to indicate the fictional time unit? − Pintoch (talk) 14:56, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- Comment I agree with Pintoch this should be more generic, "date in fictional calendar" sounds good although would Quantity datatype work for other examples of that? ArthurPSmith (talk) 15:35, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
- Comment I'd like a more generic approach too. How about using something generic like Time Index in the same way as this Proposal:
- Homestead (Q5890492) →
- narrative location (P840) → Delta Quadrant (Q42650623)
- point in time (P585) → 2378-04-05
- Time index → 54868.6 [Stardate units]
- Tuvok (Q9108122) →
- date of birth (P569) → 2264
- Time index → 38774 [Stardate units]
- Cloak (Q5134744) →
- narrative location (P840) → Star Trek universe (Q18043309)
- point in time (P585) → unknown
- Time index → 5462.1 [Stardate units]
