Done: top scorer (P12475) (Talk and documentation)
DescriptionThis property is for the best scorer of a single season of a team sport's competition, or even for the best ever scorer of the history of a competition. The qualifiers to be admitted to this property should be: member of sports team (P54); country for sport (P1532); criterion used (P1013) (es.: goals / tries / points / etc ); points for (P1358).
Data typeItem
Example 1In the item 2021 Rugby World Cup (Q56277442) the top scorers are Emily Scarratt (Q16227491) (best point scorer: qualifier criterion used (P1013) refers to the item points for (P1358)) and Portia Woodman (Q19877046) (best try scorer: qualifier criterion used (P1013) refers to the property try (Q578508) ).
Example 2In the item 2004–05 Heineken Cup (Q937530) the top scorers are Andy Goode (Q2849116) (best point scorer: qualifier criterion used (P1013) refers to the item points for (P1358)) and Shane Horgan (Q963878) (best try scorer: qualifier criterion used (P1013) refers to the property try (Q578508) ).
Example 3In the item UEFA Euro 2000 (Q131239) the top goal scorers are Patrick Kluivert (Q189686) and Savo Milošević (Q240456); since there's one only type of scoring might not be necessary to use the qualifier "goal"

Motivation edit

The property statistical leader (P3279) has proven to be unfeasible, too many qualificators to manage. I propose to create a separate item, Top Scorers, which should be used '''ONLY''' for the best scorer (goals / tries / points / etc ) in a team sport competition. This way the data in this property can be easily managed by the single Wikipedia projects. -- Blackcat   13:25, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
