- Motivation
We in Wikimedia Norge were contacted by the Mission Archives (Misjonsarkivet), one of the largest private-sector archives in Norway, about uploading their structured data into Wikidata, so it can be used in Wikipedia and elsewhere. As part of that, I need this property to be able to link back and forth between their database and Wikidata. Jon Harald Søby (WMNO) (talk) 09:48, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Question @Jon Harald Søby (WMNO): What does "VID" mean? And are the IDs stable? Jonathan Groß (talk) 09:55, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Jonathan Groß: VID is the name of the university college that the archive is part of. It's an acronym for "Vitenskapelig Internasjonal Diakonal", but they're normally just known as "VID". And yes, IDs are stable. Jon Harald Søby (WMNO) (talk) 11:06, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

- Support I renamed it into Misjonsarkiv person ID. ChristianKl (talk) 12:03, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
- Comment Since it's now been (almost) a week and there are no objections, could I bother a property creator (@Jonathan Groß, ChristianKl:?) to create this one? I'd like to get started on importing stuff from this database for real tomorrow. Jon Harald Søby (WMNO) (talk) 19:11, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Jon Harald Søby (WMNO), ChristianKl: Done. Jonathan Groß (talk) 05:44, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

- Out of order. Seems like the whole database has moved here: https://www.vid.no/historisk-arkiv/ressurser/nms-people-places/ Vidariv (talk) 11:00, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
