The use of name strings as identifiers seems a bit brittle (re. name changes, or even correction of spelling/transliteration errors). Is there a statement somewhere on the site that the person identifiers are persistent (don't change, or stay reserved and have redirects in case of changes? @Fnielsen: any updates? We do have a lot of other identifiers that are basically name strings so I don't think this is fundamentally a problem. ArthurPSmith (talk) 20:08, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
