Motivation
editKarate is one of the types of Japanese martial arts, whose popularity is growing every year. It has experienced many ups and downs - an example is its inclusion in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, but the next games in Paris in 2024 will not include this sport. - Comment Can you link the examples, or explain how you expect this formatter URL to work? Wikidata doesn't support two $1's in the formatter. ArthurPSmith (talk) 14:37, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith It is quite difficult for me to answer this question, since an identifier without a three-letter country code does not work. However, the three-letter state identifier must be entered here in the first part and the first half of the second part. However, this should be discussed on the Wikidata forum. - @ArthurPSmith:, would you like to give your opinion/remarks? Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 05:29, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

- @MasterRus21thCentury: In order to make the formatter work with double $1's, you need to have two identical values, as in the case of P12220 property, but not different ones. In your case, the proposed formatter outputs:
https://setopen.sportdata.org/wkfranking/ranking_main_competitor.php?ranking_country=ESP&ranking_competitor=ESP&hidemenu=true
, which leads to broken links and is not useful in any way. You are left with three options:
- Change the data type to URL so that it is just a link, but I strongly discourage this.
- Propose some other (working) formatter URL.
- Withdraw this proposal if you needed the external identifier property, because in the current form it is unfortunately impossible to create it. Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 17:00, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Kirilloparma Да, как раз нужно попробовать использовать Stadium 64 ID (P12220) для будущего свойства. MasterRus21thCentury (talk) 17:44, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
- You cannot create this property based on Stadium 64 ID (P12220) (or Moscow Cultural Heritage ID (P12284)), I have already explained why. You need to look for a different formatter URL if you need an external identifier. Regards Kirilloparma (talk) 14:30, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Kirilloparma:, what's your opinion? shall we close proposal if it's not work. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 07:52, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

- Not done, no consensus of proposed property at this time based on the above discussion. MasterRus21thCentury, as Kirilloparma advised, if you got something better let me know, and we will look into this in future.Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 06:28, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
