- Motivation
The Chapels Database includes records of 6426 chapels that have been compiled through data collection during site visits and documentary research, supplemented by the integration of historic surveys and existing databases. The information held covers architecture, associated people such as architects and ministers, key dates, costs, and capacity. The variety of different chapel designs is captured in the database and taken together with the details of the chapel's denomination and the inclusion of archival images, this is a useful source of information on Welsh cultural heritage and social history.
