Example
Planned usemove the corresponding P31-statements to statements with the new property
Motivation

The transformation of an entity into another form is a frequent theme in fiction, mythology and folklore. In the moment P31 is used to indicate the forms an entity takes but this approach mixes the nature of a character with a superficial and often temporary form. The new property should be used to express this kind of feature more accurately. - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 13:07, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion
This is definitely common in the mentioned domains. I added some more examples and you can get an impression of some occurences here: Category:Shapeshifting, Shapeshifting. Of course it is preferable to use an existing property or to create a property with a broader scope - suggestions are welcome. - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 08:17, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that possessed by spirit (P4292) seems to be close at first glance and it seems to be a good idea to extend its scope as it is still rarely used. But I really can't think of a way to generalize it to fit the case as they are quite different. It (Q3899150) is not possessed by a clown and Harry Potter (Q3244512) does not take the form of Voldemort. Actually I can't think of a case where something is possesed by something and takes the form of the same thing (but of cases where something is possessed by something and takes the form of something else). But maybe I'm not thinking in the right direction. - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk)
