Discussion edit

Hi @Pintoch:, it's exactly same text property as for :

@Bouzinac: the last one and most recent one, Transport Canada LID (P5699), is an external identifier and not a string. The three others were created a long time ago (when external-id did not exist). What is the downside of external-id? There could be formatter URL in the future, and that will only work if we create the property as external-id now. − Pintoch (talk) 07:34, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Pintoch: OK, I get it. I don't think there would be an URL with DGAC but who knows? Fine for me, and thank you! Bouzinac (talk) 08:34, 31 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Besides, there might be a need for a Russian-like airport code. Would the string/external id be accepting cyrillic text only ? If so, then I might post the idea of Russian-alike property.

Yes I don't see any issue with cyrillic characters in external ids. − Pintoch (talk) 16:59, 31 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
