Motivation

edit

Under certain conditions, the risks associated with a medical procedure (be it diagnostic or therapeutic) may outweigh the benefits, in which case the procedure should be avoided. Such conditions are called contraindication (Q1848900)      , i.e. the opposite of indication (Q496997)      . This proposed property would thus be a companion property to the recently created medically indicated in case of (P10630)    and was already partly discussed over there. In contrast to that property, I propose to define this one with the qualifier object of statement has role (P3831)   , for which the values absolute contraindication (Q111771239)       and relative contraindication (Q111771260)       should cover most use cases. I think this qualifier should be optional, and I have thus included one example where it is not present. Daniel Mietchen (talk) 00:00, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
