Motivation
editI was editing 2019 State of the Union Address (Q60467358) and I noticed there was no way to specify the designated survivor (Q596135) which is a prominent detail on the Wikipedia articles. U+1F360 (talk) 03:38, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
Discussion
editI was thinking of using participant (P710), and while the designated survivor (Q596135) is a partipant in the process, they are not a partipant of the event. In fact, they have specifically been singled out to not partipate. So maybe excluding (P1011) could be updated for this purpose? U+1F360 (talk) 04:45, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

- Oppose This doesn't seem like something that should need its own property. I'm not sure I agree with the reasoning why participant (P710) isn't suitable: they're not an attendee, but it seems to me they are very explicitly a participant, albeit one who is required to participate from afar. So I think I'd go for something like:
participant (P710) |

add value |
- I'd be open to a different way of expressing that, though, if there's something else more suitable. --Oravrattas (talk) 08:04, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- Comment. If the property is not created, significant person (P3342) would still be a better choice than participant (P710). Thierry Caro (talk) 17:41, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- Oh, yes, significant person (P3342) looks good for this. --Oravrattas (talk) 17:50, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

- @U+1F360, ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2, Oravrattas: Not done. Use significant person (P3342), which now has a new example. Thierry Caro (talk) 00:10, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
