illustrative content
editOriginally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Creative work
Motivation
editThere is currently no way in edition items to indicate what kind of illustrations are present in the publication. This is commonly recorded in library metadata and it would be useful to include it in Wikidata items as well. Catalogers using the RDA cataloging standard assign illustrative content terms from a controlled list, available in the RDA Registry at https://www.rdaregistry.info/termList/IllusContent/: coat of arms, facsimile, form, genealogical table, graph, illumination, illustration, map, photograph, plan, portrait, sample. Terms from another suitable vocabulary encoding scheme are also permitted.
Equivalent properties:

BIBFRAME illustrativeContent

- Support currently I use has part(s) of the class (P2670) for this, but a dedicated property, similar to front and back matter (P8570), might work better. @Jarekt: this might be useful for your Commons template as well. --- Jura 13:20, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
