Motivation edit
We do not have a "depicts" for videos, only images.
This will be used to say what things or videos are shown in a video.
The reason we should have a dedicated property instead of just depicts (P180) is because start time (P580) and end time (P582) will be valid qualifiers to indicate during what time during the video something was shown whereas an image just shows something itself.

Discussion edit
- I instead think we can use depicts (P180) with time index (P4895) plus two new qualifiers (start time index and end time index) with quantity datatype as qualifier.--GZWDer (talk) 13:27, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- @GZWDer Yeah, I guess we could. Just didn't want to make anyone mad who thought depicts (P180) was reserved for images. Lectrician1 (talk) 19:21, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- I think that DEPICT also apply to "descriptions" in any media, including texts in which, for example, Empire State Building is described with enough attention. Tsaorin (talk) 13:22, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Tsaorin Remember that we also have described by source (P1343) and that currently seems to be used for text. I'd like to limit the definition of the depicts property to only things that visually depict something so that Empire State Building idea shouldn't work. - Comment I don't think depicts (P180) is currently used that way on movies (or videos). --- Jura 13:54, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
- I think it's better to extend depicts (P180) scope to videos. —putnik 14:07, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
- See also Wikidata:Property proposal/start and end time in video for qualifier to use.--GZWDer (talk) 18:43, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose I also think depicts (P180) is good for that. --Tinker Bell ★ ♥ 18:37, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
