Task/s:
- adding identification codes of museums and copyright organisations to artist entities
- adding more aliases of artists
- adding new artists from collections of Dutch museums after a verification process automatically and manually they aren't already in Wikidata
Code:
Data will be provided by http://checker.copyclear.nl in Drupal with the library wikibase-api php. Code will be open sourced, but we have to built this module yet.
Function details:
It will add the claim PictoRight ID code (P3361) for 500-20.000 artists as well as the IPI basecode. Adding more aliases will be done based on the artists names in the museum collections. Especially aliases will be added when an artist has name variants like 'T. van Gogh'. They re difficult to be found currently. We won't add typo aliases as we use a human check before adding. Adding more artists will be based partly on RKD, the Dutch database of artists.

- Please provide a link to your source code. Multichill (talk) 21:38, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- There is no source code yet, we first started the bot request as first "The request for permission must be started before the test run is started.". So once we have permission we start programming for the test run. --Hannolans (talk) 16:15, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- @Hannolans: please do a couple of test edits. Multichill (talk) 20:17, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Ok, we will. --Hannolans (talk) 12:15, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- The bot has made a couple of testedits to add copyright identification codes. @Multichill: please verify so that we can do more edits. --Hannolans (talk) 10:17, 18 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- @Hannolans: these edits look good. It's a shame that IPI base code (P3453) doesn't link anywhere so hard to verify if it's correct. Can you do about 100 test edits? Maybe also for the other jobs or maybe the code for that part isn't ready yet? Multichill (talk) 10:21, 18 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- I can add the URL of PictoRight as source for IPI base code (P3453). It's a bit hard to test as i get a "You've exceeded your rate limit. Please wait some time and try again.". Other rule I want to create is to write the labels for name variants of artists. --Hannolans (talk) 10:26, 18 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Would be great if in the future IPI base code (P3453) can have a link to a database. --Hannolans (talk) 10:27, 18 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Yeah, sourcing where you got it from would be nice. Also makes it easier to correct mistakes. I'm not sure what framework you're using, but it should respect rate limits and max lag and just slow down. If you're ignoring it or your bot is crashing, something is wrong with your framework. this code might be useful for inspiration if you plan to add aliases. - We use the library https://github.com/addwiki is that not handling rate limits? Looks like this is the issue to follow: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T111703 --Hannolans (talk) 11:07, 18 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

- Good that we are on track. I will approve the bot in a couple of days provided that there have been no objections raised.--Ymblanter (talk) 02:34, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- @Ymblanter: reviewed a couple of edits and all look good. Please approve. Multichill (talk) 20:41, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
