TptBot 2 edit
TptBot (talk • contribs • new items • new lexemes • SUL • Block log • User rights log • User rights • xtools)
Operator: Tpt (talk • contribs • logs)
Task/s: Import interwiki links to Wikisource Author pages in existing items
Code: Based on wikibase-api-php
Remarks: This bot haven't yet the bot flag because the previous request have been made obsolete by depreciation of P107. No test edit have been done because links to Wikisource are not supported yet.
Function details: Use Author templates of various Wikisources (en, fr, de...), Wikisource author template of the English Wikipedia and interlanguage links to add sitelinks in existing Wikidata items. It will take care about interwiki conflicts and also imports VIAF, LCCN and GND identifiers (with relevant "imported form" source) in order to help contributors to find duplicates. This request does not covers creation of items. Tpt (talk) 10:24, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Required bot for the translation of the links to WD. Can the bot log where there is no item existing at WD? That would have benefits, especially if it was centrally stored at mulWS. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:22, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, I can easily run a script after the importation to get the list of Author: pages without Wikidata item (I won't do it during the importation because a link to an en.wikisource page may be added when using the language links of a de.wikisource page). Tpt (talk) 16:37, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- On svsource, am I not aware of any templates who are only used in Author-namespace. s:sv:Mall:Wikipedialänk is used in both main and Author-namespace. Can you add that template to your task? -- Lavallen (talk) 12:33, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, I'll add sv.wikisource support to my bot using this template. But I'll only import Författare: pages because I want to focus only on Author pages at the beginning. The bot supports currently only ca, de, en, es, fr, it and pl Wikisources. Tpt (talk) 16:37, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, I don't think I can answer anything else than Support, since this is necessary for WS landing. But what about item creation ? Is it for future dev ? Last we talked, I was under the impression your bot would handle it as well. --LBE (talk) 12:56, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- My project is to do a first importation without item creation and, when all the most important ways to match Wikisource pages with Wikidata items (links from Wikisource to Wikipedia, links from Wikipedia to Wikisource...) will have been used create or list items for the remaining pages. I do it that way in order to avoid duplicates that could have been easily detected. Then I can use the bot to create items for remaining pages or only make a list of those pages. NeutralA really good idea, but becouse of habit, I would like to see some test edits (maybe on test.wikidata.org?) before I support this request.--Snaevar (talk) 13:40, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]- I don't think it's possible to do realistic test edits in test.wikidata without an important extra work because my bot relies on exiting items. I'll do test edits as soon as Wikisource support is deployed here. Tpt (talk) 16:37, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- @Snaevar:. I've just done some tests edits as Wikisource is supported now. Tpt (talk) 21:40, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Looks good to me.--Snaevar (talk) 21:46, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

- I think will be good idea to list added interwikis in edit summaries. Or at least project codes. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 04:40, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Support of course, and also support of all requests of "verbose" log and lists of errors. They are always useful. I don't know how it's difficult, Tpt, but for the identifiers it it.ws would like to have Property:P396 too. As you know, there are many "national" identifiers, and so some wikisources are maybe interested in having them imported as well. Aubrey (talk) 08:22, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Also, could you add a "counter"? Would be good to be able to count and map all the existing interlinks... Aubrey (talk) 08:32, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- @Tpt:It's better to import description and authority control from Wikisource.--GZWDer (talk) 10:08, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- @Aubrey:. I'll add SBN support before importing it.wikisource. For other "national" ids, I'll do the importation later as running again the bot on a small number of pages (less than 1000) is very quick. A "counter" won't be very relevant as there are already a non-negligeable number of links that have already been imported by Dexbot. I think that doing a query on database replication after the importation will be more relevant. Tpt (talk) 12:30, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- @Tpt: thank you. it would be very interesting, for me, having a complete and accurate mapping of the Wikisource around the worl, and how much they are connected. Aubrey (talk) 12:56, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- @GZWDer: I'll do VIAF, LCCN, GND and SNB importation at the same time as links import. But, in the future, I can very easily import the other ones. About descriptions, I don't think that Wikisource descriptions match Wikidata conventions so I feel a bit uncomfortable to import them right now. Tpt (talk) 12:30, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
