Hello, I tried several thinks in order to display French text in Wikidata:Requests for comment/Reforming the property creation process/fr in the textbox created by template Template:RFCSubpage. For now, it is unsuccessful so if you have any idea to fix that, thank you in advance. Pamputt (talk) 10:21, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

- I think you will have to mark the page for translation each time someone makes an interesting comment.

Source language
At Wikidata:Sandbox/4, I tried to set the source language to something else than "en", but it seems that isn't possible.
Wikidata:WikiProject_Cycling would need its source language to be set to "fr".

- I don't think it's possible to change the source language. As far as I can find on the documentation on mediawiki.net, the source language can only be defined per wiki. Mbch331 (talk) 19:37, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
- I was looking for the configuration parameter to change, but couldn't find it. Can we change this in the site settings? If there is a project about the Dutch parliament, it would be odd if you'd have to translate this to English first and then back to Dutch. Obviously, for a more general project in a rare language this wouldn't be useful. French and Cycling should work out.

- If one just changes "$wgTranslateBlacklist" and removes "en" (see mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Configuration#Message_group_configuration) would this enable translations to English? This even if the source has already "en" as site language? Wikidata:WikiProject_Cycling/en would be the new translation. --- Jura 18:43, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
