Would someone be able to enable translations on Wikidata:Fourth Birthday? I am a bit lost with the better way to do so because of the sub-pages. So, thanks in advance. Pamputt (talk) 22:44, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Delete all tanslation marks

Please can someone delete all translate system for Wikidata:WikiProject_Chemistry/Properties and Wikidata:WikiProject_Chemistry/References ? No discussion was initiated to translate these pages and no body is taking care of the translations. Furthermore I am cleaning a little the pages and I have a bunch of <translate> and TXX which stay in the code without any use. Project pages should be kept out translation system as evolution leads to major over time. Thanks Snipre (talk) 11:30, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

Query page

Hi, I just bloated Wikidata:SPARQL_query_service/queries/examples of translate tags after askin if this would be a problem for the script that import the queries into the query service. As it parses the HTML there is no problem. Could you mark this for translation ? author  TomT0m / talk page 17:47, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Hi TomT0m I started to clean up the translation tags. Indeed, the way they were placed does not allow to edit section. In addition, it is not useful to place « translate » tag for each sentence; Mediawiki knows to split the text. As it is a quite long page, I did not finish (I only did the beginning), so if someone wants to continue, he is more than welcomed. Translations will be enable once it will be done. @Pamputt: What do you mean "the way they were placed does not allow to edit section" ? author  TomT0m / talk page 18:40, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
Honestly, I don't really know if the "cleaning" is worth it as there is only a sentences and the stuffs are very splitted by the queries. I don't really understand why you replace === <translate>title</translate> === with <translate>=== title ===</translate> as the "===" will never be changed by the translator and will distract him more than be useful. Besides, if I recall well, the uneeded translate tags can be removed after without problem as long as we keep the metadata tags. author  TomT0m / talk page 18:47, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
Anyway, a few regexes in my text editor have probably done most of the work. author  TomT0m / talk page 19:22, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

@TomT0m: quick answer. One has to write <translate>=== title ===</translate> so that section section be editable. Otherwise they are not and edit a page, especially long ones is really not convenient. That's said, it seems that the translation tags have broken something. Do you what was broken precisely? Pamputt (talk) 21:24, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

@Pamputt: Not yet. Everything seems OK at first sight and the time the page takes to load and review make me hesiting to do the work while having no feedback from wmf devs about the loading time. author  TomT0m / talk page 06:43, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
