Talk page template edit

I think we should have a template, modelled on the {{Constraint}} family, which indicates that a property has one of these reports available. I'm not sure how to go about that. Can anyone help, please? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:25, 16 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

It can be added to {{Property documentation}}. The code can check if it exists and show it in the lists section. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 16:28, 16 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
This actually happens automatically. If such a report page starts to exist, it appears in the Property documentation box soon after. However, the link is very inconspicuous, thus an extra constraint-like box which just contains a link to this report page and a brief description what to expect might be useful. —MisterSynergy (talk) 16:38, 16 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

removing roman name properties from this report? edit

@Jahl de Vautban hello, i see that I had made a mistake with the way roman names work that you reverted, and I was going off this page's report, would you say that the roman name properties here should be removed/blanked out for P734 and P735? Akaibu (talk) 14:51, 6 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Akaibu: hi, yeah exactly, if you can do it that may prevent further mistakes (I don't blame you, you weren't the first and problably won't be the last). To be honest in reality things are a bit more complex, because persons who weren't born Roman citizen usually have a given name (P735), though not family name (P734). A good exemple is Plutarch (Q41523). The transition out of the Roman naming system in late antiquity isn't clearly modelled either. But yeah, disabling the reporting on P2358, P2359 and P2359 might be a good start. --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 15:23, 6 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Jahl de Vautban The only thing is I'm not familiar with this part of the site, looking around, it looks like it's an "all or nothing" kind of thing in terms of disabling it, and doesn't prevent them from showing up in other properties reports anyways(I hadn't been looking through the roman name property lists). so I'm not sure if something more technical needs to be done to prevent this here.
