Good to convert
edit- mobile country code (P2258) - 2 duplicates out of 183 uses ArthurPSmith (talk) 16:18, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
- Not unique. It's a prefix. The combination of mobile country code (P2258) and mobile network code (P2259) are unique. Multichill (talk) 19:58, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
- ?. It's an identifier and it's unique.
--- Jura 21:46, 14 May 2016 (UTC)- Take for example the United Kingdom. It has multiple codes. Multichill (talk) 19:13, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- How does that matter? You can still identify what it relates to. P1006 works the same way.

Mix of good to convert and disputed
edit- CPDL ID (P2000) - These are wiki page names, see P839 on page 0. - Nikki (talk) 20:46, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
- I don't see how their software should have an impact?
P839can be considered internal (not external) and might eventually become a sitelink, but P2000 not.
--- Jura 08:21, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
P935 not P839.
--- Jura 09:55, 18 February 2016 (UTC)- Jura - Nikki's point is that ANY "identifier" which is merely the name of a page in a wiki (not necessarily a mediawiki wiki, any wiki) is by definition unstable, because those names can be edited at any time. This is a good reason not to consider them external identifiers in my view - they don't meet Jakob's "persistence" criterion at least. ArthurPSmith (talk) 15:04, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- I think if we find wikis where this is a mayor issue, we should delete the property. We can't have items with references to random content. In the meantime, the string at the item still needs to refer to an URL. The new way to specify that URL is ..
--- Jura 17:49, 18 February 2016 (UTC)- I'm supporting the move to external ID. Thierry Caro (talk) 06:04, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

Not going to convert
edit- mobile network code (P2259) - only 38.93% unique out of 280 uses ArthurPSmith (talk) 16:18, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
- Disputed by Multichill at Wikidata:Project_chat/Archive/2016/02#upcoming_deployments.2Ffeatures
- Identifies countries for networks globally. Not specifically mentioned by Multichill.
--- Jura 11:38, 14 March 2016 (UTC)- Jura, I was the one who moved this to disputed, based on the 38.93% statistic. You can't just move it to "good to convert" without responding on that issue. It's a similar but even worse problem than we have with IATA airline designator (P229). How is this an identifier, what does it identify? It's clearly not unambiguously identifying the items it is attached to in Wikidata at the moment. ArthurPSmith (talk) 14:51, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
- Actually, I meant to move its companion (P2258). You might want to read the property description if you are interested in an answer to your question.

- This is not currently used as an identifier for the things it is currently a property for, but indicates the entity is found in that remote pathway. Egon Willighagen (talk) 08:32, 8 March 2016 (UTC)
- My 2016 comment was based on the use at that time. Right now it is being used as an external identifier. And while my comment was meant mostly as an observation, I am now clearly in favor of converting it, taking the current use in mind. --Egon Willighagen (talk) 13:59, 24 April 2018 (UTC)

- production code (P2364) - This doesn't seem to be part of a consistent system or controlled by a single authority. - Nikki (talk) 17:39, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
