Problems with MoMa import edit

Hi! Thanks for your import of artist with Museum of Modern Art artist ID (P2174). However, there are two problems: instance of (P31)individual (Q795052) isn't standard, the standard is instance of (P31)human (Q5); many items are duplicates of existing items (they can be found e.g. because they have the same VIAF ID (P214), cfr. Property talk:P214/Duplicates/humans). Could you help with the merges? Thanks, --Epìdosis 23:25, 16 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I am a current student fellow at MoMA and this is my first day back in office after a long break. I apologize for the occurrences and lack of response. Currently working to resolve all issues/comments and appreciate your patience in the meantime Allyshaleonard (talk) 14:30, 31 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
UPDATE: all OpenRefine upload batches have been requested for reverse/deletion.
The instance of human has been added to the schema and everything will be reconciled again to avoid duplicates. Once all is deleted, we will give it another shot to meet all standards and merges.
I appreciate your patience. Allyshaleonard (talk) 15:32, 31 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Gilnsky is bogus. Glinsky (Q36998208) sounds right.--Naughty Dog Agreement (talk) 19:20, 1 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Weird. Why you recreated the wrong Vincent Glinsky (Q117119136) Vincent Gilnsky? Cheers,Jackie Bensberg (talk) 20:49, 27 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Why are you creating duplicates? edit

Q115638339 had the very same name and VIAF like Hans Van Manen (Q1583352).--Trevor Bickford (talk) 09:48, 2 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

I've merge the two items. The VIAF id was added by KrBot. The MoMA artist page only tells us that Hans van Manen was involved in the exhibition The Arts for Television so we will have a lot of work to check all these imports. @Allyshaleonard: You've created 4 items for Q115636572 (pseud. Stephen Bastian) with the same source VIAF 192623652. --Kolja21 (talk) 09:05, 19 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
To be honest, these were not even supposed to be uploaded to Wikibase yet as there were "technical difficulties" in OpenRefine, where the upload did not complete - hence the multiple uploads on the backend without knowing. I am currently resolving this issue and will be removing duplicates/merging. Allyshaleonard (talk) 14:35, 31 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Current work with Open Refine edit

Hi,

Please take the time to review your OpenRefine schema so it doesn't erase current label or descriptions and replace them whith less desirable ones imported from MoMa. I also strongly suggest that you take more time curating the IDs that you have so they don't conflate with other persons with similar names. --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 19:58, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Colgate-palmolive Ltd. (Q117113433) edit

Hi Allysha,

are you sure that this is not a duplicate of Colgate-Palmolive Company (Q609466)?--U. M. Owen (talk) 23:16, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
