Leere Objekte edit

Hallo Atamari, Du hast vorgestern ein paar Objekte angelegt, die bisher leer geblieben sind (Beispiel: Q30157962). Hast Du damit noch etwas vor, oder kann ich die löschen? Viele Grüße! —MisterSynergy (talk) 17:59, 10 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Die habe ich nicht angelegt. Wurde mein Account gehackt? --Atamari (talk) 21:29, 10 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
In der Zusammenfassugszeile steht was von "Widar" was ist das? --Atamari (talk) 21:31, 10 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
Keine Panik, sowas passiert schonmal.
MisterSynergy (talk) 21:41, 10 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Q25377595 edit

What is this item about? I guess I didn't look into this enough before merging, sorry about that, but "Kanifing Municipal" doesn't sound like a (complete) English official name; I can't find any usage of this term, and I'd expect the term to be "Kanifing Municipality" or "Kanifing Municipal District" or something. At least at present there only seems to be a Local Government Area and District as governmental entities of this name. Innotata (talk) 20:43, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

See en:Municipality and Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), Gambia (and Local District & Area Councils in Gambia). Gambia has one Town or City (= Banjul, the capital city) and one Municipality (= Kanifing Municipal). The County is divered in regions (West Coast, Lower River, North Bank, Central River and the Upper River) and parallel existing rarely used Local government Areas (= LGA). Local sources rarely use LGA, news sources mostly name regions. The Kanifing Municipality and the Kanifing Local Area is probably in most parts congruent, but still there are two subjects. Sources that explain the facts to the LGA exactly missing but. --Atamari (talk) 21:00, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you edit

Hoi, there is only one problem. What you subscribe districts to are no longer current divisions of the Gambia. Thanks, GerardM (talk) 20:35, 14 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Translation request edit

Hello.

Can you create the article en:Telephone numbers in Azerbaijan in German, just like the article de:Telefonvorwahl (Griechenland) which you uploaded?

Thank you.

Sondrion (talk) 23:37, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

???? --Atamari (talk) 23:39, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
I requested it, because a Germann article does not yet exist. Yours sincerely, Sondrion (talk) 00:42, 12 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Kanifing edit

As I explained on Wikipedia:sv:diskussion:Kanifing, the contents of Wikipedia:sv:Kanifing were mostly about the settlement of Kanifing in the narrow meaning (2013 pop. 14,296) even before I rewrote it, and even more so afterwards. Some of the material was even translated from Wikipedia:de:Kanifing. The same holds for Wikipedia:no:Kanifing which is apparently a translation from Swedish. Because the district coincides with the local government area ([1], p. ii), I described it together with the local government area (2013 pop. 377,134) in Wikipedia:sv:Kanifing (kommun). Q1762211 is supposedly about the district, not the settlement, and so are most of the linked Wikipedia articles in languages I could read, apart from arguably Wikipedia:en:Kanifing which is not very well-written when it comes to delimiting its subject. Essin (talk) 15:58, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have reverted. In the English Wikipedia there is a lot of wrong information about The Gambia. The source situation is not easy either, I have some maps and books on the subject. --Atamari (talk) 16:11, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
It is important to note that : The Gambia is divided into five regions and two municipalities, the City of Banjul and Kanifing municipality. The five regions are the Western Region, Lower River Region, Central River Region, Upper River Region and the North Bank Region. [2] --Atamari (talk) 16:16, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I agree that English Wikipedia is not a good source of information for Gambian administration. You might be interested to hear that the Western Region was renamed the West Coast Region in 2010,[3] which is confirmed by the 2013 census. Essin (talk) 16:37, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
The "Administrative Divisions of The Gambia" contains most of the information I could find up to about 2013...2017.
And just found "Census 2013 - Directory of Settlement" on https://www.gbosdata.org/downloads/census-2013-8! This section "There are forty-four districts in The Gambia distributed as follows: Banjul (3), Kanifing (1), Brikama (9), Mansakonko (6), Kerewan (7), Kuntaur (5), Janjanbureh (6) and Basse (7). As Kanifing is the only LGA with one district which is Kanifing, the profile for the LGA only includes the LGA followed by the settlements." is interesting (44 Districts in year 2013). --Atamari (talk) 16:48, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
