label capitalization

Hi. Why the capitalization of regular nouns in English? I think this is just a habit from Wikipedia due to technical reasons of Mediawiki we dont need in labels anymore. Cheers, Mutante (talk) 18:55, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

See the rules for capitalization in English. Labels are both beginnings of sentences and the rules for title case apply, IMHO. However, this may be an interesting topic for discussion for the community.

Ok, thanks. Yeah, see i come from a lot of Wiktionary editing where we always had capitalized and non-capitalized page titles depending on the language and type of word. f.e. en:wikt:bier and en:wikt:Bier are different pages. Your revert on Marie Curie

As you can see Property talk:P21 (this is about "Property : Gender") using property Q43445 for a human person may be reasonable in English but gives a ridiculous result in French. I noticed you reverted my change on Marie Curie, and you may be right (this is a strange place where there is no comment box to explain one's editions !). Indeed your version is probably the right one in English and maybe in some other languages, while mine is certainly the right one in French and maybe in some other languages. "Stupa"-Konflikt

Hallo Jens. Es gibt da einen kleinen Konflikt in Wikidata. Der Artikel Stupa in de-Wiki ist verlinkt mit "stupa" (Q180987, kleingeschrieben). Ausserdem gibt es dort aber auch "Stupa" (Q1068814, groß geschrieben). Kannst Du wohl so etwas auflösen? Oder wer kann das machen?

Vielleicht noch dies dazu: Stupa (Q1068814), stupa (stupa (Q180987)), Cetiya (Cetiya (Q5065670)) und stupa (Q12741633) beschreiben mMn das Gleiche. Chedi (und auch Cetiya) ist die Bezeichnung in thailändischer Sprache. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob dafür jeweils eigene Entities vorhanden sein müssen? --Hdamm (talk) 09:34, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

Es gibt für Stupa und Chedi verschiedene Artikel in verschiedenen Sprachen, u.a. in Deutsch, Englisch und Rumänisch. Das sollte die Notwendigkeit klären.

Q1068814 habe ich nach stupa (Q180987) und Cetiya (Q5065670) auseinander gedröselt und sollte demnächst gelöscht werden. Bitte dieses Datenelement nicht wiederholt bearbeiten. stupa (Q12741633) enthielt den rumänischen Artikel zur Stupa, während das Datenelement "Stupa" den rumänischen Artikel "Chedi" enthielt. Habe ich auseinander klambüselt und hoffentlich richtig zugeordnet. Auch stupa (Q12741633) sollte daher demnächst gelöscht werden.

Außerdem gibt es noch Stupa (Q16358866), das scheint mir aber ein ganz spezielles Objekt im Kosovo zu sein. --WikiAnika (talk) 09:50, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

P.S. das Feld "Beschreibung" dient eigentlich nur der Unterscheidung des Fußballspielers Max Mustermann vom Literaturnobellpreisträger, entsprechen unseren Klammen und werden in der Suche auch so angezeigt. Bei mir wird "Stupa" deutsch groß geschrieben. Das andere dürfte Englisch sein. Vgl. hier diese Disk ein paar Abschnitte weiter oben. Abgesehen davon ist der Arbeitsaufwand erheblich kleiner ein/zwei Einträge zu verschieben, als ein ganzes Dutzend davon. Und die Schreibung der einen Sprache lässt sich auch leicht korrigieren. --WikiAnika (talk) 13:12, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

Prime number Pokemon in SPARQL

Hi Jens, I'm hoping you're the same person who asked on IRC earlier about selecting prime number Pokemon in SPARQL. :)

I'm not an expert, but I think your query fails because selecting labels via the label service doesn't populate the variables early enough, so the comparison fails. If you select the labels explicitly instead (like this), it works fine.

Here is another way you could select them. :)

I've done the first two significant pieces of my effort to improve the help available to people who come to Wikidata from other WMF projects. Peter Handke

Habe die von dir am 7.11. im WD-Objekt Peter Handke (Q44107) eingefügte jugoslawische Staatsbürgerschaft entfernt. Selbst unter Heranziehung der referenzierten Quelle The Intercept (wie dann folgend viele weitere Quellen international) ist zum derzeitigen Stand nur eines gesichert: 1999 wurde Handke von der jugoslawischen Botschaft in Wien ein jugosl. Reisepass ausgestellt. Die Authentizität ist von Handke bestätigt. Mehr gibt es zurzeit nicht. Handke selbst streitet die Verleihung ebenso wie eine Annahme der YU-Stb ab.
