'subclass of' = 'medication'
editI noticed your changes adding subclass of = medication. For your information, most 'instance of' (P31) = 'medication' and 'subclass of' (P279) = 'medication' have been moved to 'has use' (P366) = 'medication' in the recent past. At the same time all statements regarding the action of drugs (e.g. antipyretic, antiviral, etc.) have been standardized to 'has role' (P2868) – based on MeSH imports from many years ago.
All this took many months of work and several million edits, currently items regarding drugs used in the form of racemates will be corrected and separated, as the method of description from the point of view of chemistry and from the point of view of pharmacology is different and it is necessary to properly distinguish it also in WD. Since edits in this area are done by me (and to a lesser extent by a few others) using QS, changes like yours (adding 'subclass of' = 'medicine') may go unnoticed and then be massively changed using QS, so before such changes, I encourage you to take part in the discussion at Wikidata talk:WikiProject Chemistry.
[deleted. English, please.] If you have any doubts about this solution, the right direction is to express it in the linked discussion. Wostr (talk) 15:16, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
- Wostr, pages such as Q8277 display an alert:
- Values of drug or therapy used for treatment statements should be instances or subclasses of one of the following classes (or of one of their subclasses), but rituximab currently isn't:
- I made the change (that you have reverted) to address the problem the alert pointed out. My change made the alert go away. Your revert has brought the warning back. Maybe you should change the alert system to consider P366 acceptable? (I see that Q8277 is already marked as 'has use' (P366) = 'medication'.) Would you? I've no idea how. As it is, you're creating alerts by undoing the work. Also, FYI, racemic may be a better word to use than racemate. You end with something I can't decipher not in English. (Anyway, I'm just a newbie here.) PS: Is the relation "instance or subclass of or has use" what's needed? At https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P2176#P2176$9DB96358-0BE5-4C0D-ACF2-2A64995F0531? - Yes, you are right with the constraint violation. For most properties I have added complex constraints to be able to spot specific cases and then correct them (like complex constraint in Property talk:P2175), I'm not sure why I missed this one. The problem here is the different approaches of chemistry and medicine, which I intend to address in the future. I'll adjust this property constraints
violationsfix Wostr (talk) 19:29, 10 October 2023 (UTC). - Also, I think that items about medications need a metaclass similar to type of chemical entity (Q113145171) created for chemical entities, but I'm not ready to propose this change yet, as I still have many months of unfinished work left with chemical entities and chemical classification.
- And sorry, I conduct discussions in different languages, often at the same time on different projects and messengers like Discord, it turns out that I wrote to you partly in Polish... This should be: Using 'has use' = 'medicine' is not necessarily the final solution, but it is certainly better than previous state in which this information was added through four different properties (P31/P279/P366/P2868).
- About the 'racemate' and 'racemic (mixture)'. I just don't get the difference here, from my perspective they seem to be synonyms, although I may be missing some of the more subtle differences in English. Wostr (talk) 19:21, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

"Concept of bot edits" thread
editHello RudolfoMD! Don't want to cast a vote on the question above? Since you last commented, a new section of voting has opened and there is a question to be decided here: Wikidata:Project_chat#Discussion_after_bot_suspension (point 4 has what you can support or oppose). Thank you bye Pallor (talk) 10:55, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
- Lymantria blocked Frettiebot "Until resolution of issues on Frettiebot's editing". The consensus that issues with the bot's editing require code changes (which were not forthcoming) is is what caused the block and are the reason it's still in place, AFAICT. I don't understand the necessity of this additional discussion post-block. RudolfoMD (talk) 02:30, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for providing input in discussion about Peter C. Gøtzsche's Wikidata on Administrators' noticeboard
editIf you are interested, you can also look up the issue with Italian page discussion where in the "External links" section the links got removed. I'm waiting for the issue to be resolved in Wikidata before attempting to engage admins in Italian Wiki to change their position, since as of now, I see no consensus to support my claims in Italian Wikipedia, even though, for the "external links" section the requirements must be more lax than for the "official page" and the two-person Institute of Scientific Freedom where Gøtzsche is director (and the second person is his deputee) must be more than enough to meet WP:ELOFFICIAL.
By the way, Italian page has already got protected for a week and I already got blocked entirely from editing all of Italian Wikipedia for a week. Fabius byle (talk) 14:22, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- I saw that you mentioned that. I can't help with edits on Italian Wikipedia. My hands are quite full with the sickening resistance to my efforts to get FDA Black Box Warnings shown. Sure are a lot of hurdles coincidentally springing up when iatrogenic deaths are connected to an editing topic. If lottery numbers acted so coincidentally, I could win easily. Good luck next week. - Thank you again, and good luck to you too. Fabius byle (talk) 11:28, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- Just as a sidenote, just when I thought that things in Italian Wikipedia cannot go worse, I found out that they are now debating the deletion of the whole Italian Wikipedia article about Peter C. Gøtzsche altogether. Fabius byle (talk) 11:48, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
