I do appreciate you notifying me about updatesto past discussions whichI have participatedin, even as I haven't been very active in Wikidata for severalmonths. A lot has happened in my life in the pastyear, and I havesimplybeen unable to keep up. I havenointent to quit Wiikidata , insteadI have ambitiousplans formy retirement, which is now approaching fast. I've been trying a few new things such as learning some basic Mongolian, and reproducing handwritten sheet music from 50 years ago in Rosegarden and Lilypond. Plus I enjoy emulating old mainframe computers on my home desktop and want to build a virtual datacenter called Maneframe Six nspired by the My Little Pony cartoon theme for demo and educational purposes. Tying it together with Wikidata using SPARQL and Lua. I wish to see the TOPS-20 operating systemof the 1980's support SSL encryption and Unicode, so that we could translate old software into languages other than English, such as Hindi and Mongolian (using the vertical script) --SM5POR (talk) 12:05, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

While I do recognizethe Devanagari script used by @Haseeb in the comment before mine above, I was too quick to assume it to be Hindi, and I then had Google identify it as Bengali. If either of you two are interested in improving Wikidate support for your native languages, please help me to fill out two columns in [table of comparison of sentences involving the English preposition "in" to demonstrate the need for representingthis grammatical relation in Wikidata Lexemes. If either of you happen to understand Punjabi, please check the Punjabi column as well, as I simply relied on Google Translate to write it. Feel free to edit/correct the table directly on my page or comment on its discussion page as you prefer. SM5POR (talk) 12:53, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
@ZI Jony: I'm sorry for prematurely asking for translation help, as I should first do a better job myself of setting up a more convenient table to edit. I hope to contribute a generic Sense template for abstract words to the Lexeme database project, and it will enquire substantial work with tools outside Wikidata such as Lua code, and supplementary database tables (perhaps in Commons) and, my non-Wikidata workload doesn't allow me to spend enough time on this. --SM5POR (talk) 15:35, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
@SM5POR:, that's okay, Mahir256 is working with lexeme database very well, I believe he may help you much better for your project. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 09:34, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in the WQT UI requirements elicitation online workshop

Dear ZI_Jony,

I hope you are doing well,

We are a group of researchers from King’s College London working on developing WQT (Wikidata Quality Toolkit), which will support a diverse set of editors in curating and validating Wikidata content.

We are inviting you to participate in an online workshop aimed at understanding the requirements for designing effective and easy-to-use user interfaces (UI) for three tools within WQT that can support the daily activities of Wikidata editors: recommending items to edit based on their personal preferences, finding items that need better references, and generating entity schemas automatically for better item quality.

The main activity during this workshop will be UI mockup sketching. To facilitate this, we encourage you to attend the workshop using a tablet or laptop with PowerPoint installed or any other drawing tools you prefer. This will allow for a more interactive and productive session as we delve into the UI mockup sketching activities.

Participation is completely voluntary. You should only take part if you want to and choosing not to take part will not disadvantage you in any way. However, your cooperation will be valuable for the WQT design. Please note that all data and responses collected during the workshop will be used solely for the purpose of improving the WQT and understanding editor requirements. We will analyze the results in an anonymized form, ensuring your privacy is protected. Personal information will be kept confidential and will be deleted once it has served its purpose in this research.

The online workshop, which will be held on April 5th, should take no more than 3 hours.

If you agree to participate in this workshop, please either contact me at kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form to register your interest https://forms.office.com/e/9mrE8rXZVg Then, I will contact you with all the instructions for the workshop.

For more information about my project, please read this page: https://king-s-knowledge-graph-lab.github.io/WikidataQualityToolkit/

If you have further questions or require more information, don't hesitate to contact me at the email address mentioned above.

Thank you for considering taking part in this project.

Property COBISS ID

Hi, ZI Jony. I have seen you have closed the Wikidata:Property proposal/COBISS ID as not done due to lack of support. Please let me know: Can I renominate this property? Should I gather support before creating a proposal? --TadejM (talk) 14:30, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

@TadejM:, you no need to gather support for the property proposal, support is the result of the property proposal discussion. You're free to renominate any proposal, if you would like to renominate particularly this proposal, then I am willing to reopen if users are supporting your proposal. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 07:09, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the reply. The proposal is still valid and and I would appreciate if you reopen it. There was not much interest previously, but at least no one objected. This property would come handy for all visitors from Slovenia and its neighbouring countries. ---TadejM (talk) 12:50, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
@TadejM:, reopened. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 13:08, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
Thanks a lot! --TadejM (talk) 13:34, 25 April 2024 (UTC)

Lexicographic cooperation sought

Hello,Id' like to explain that I alertedyouto the issue broughtup by @Shisma regarding the ̣̪Duden sense ID (P12641) subject type constraint merely because you appeared from the property edit history to have edited the constraints and therefore might have an opinion on it. I hope I was correct in that regard. I don't consider myself sufficiently educated about the constraint mechanics to determine from your discussion whether the issue was resolved or not, but since you are obviously involved with lexemes and senses I'd like to take the opportunity to ask for some general advice. Yesterday I posted a proposal on the Lexicographic Data discussion page regarding adpositional sense item trees hoping to bring some attention to that matter. Unfortunately, even today my proposal hasn't received a single comment, and I wonder, am I going about this issue the wrong way, or am I simply too impatient, I would love to get an idea of what others think about linking lexeme senses to Wikibase items,so that I could get started building these structures and demonstrate the many different ways adpositions are used in various languages and try to discourage editors from making simplistic assumptions about one adposition in English such aʂ "in" being easily translated to a single word in each of several other languages, some of which not eveɳ Indo-European. The Swedish preposition "på" for instance may be translated either "in" "at" "on" or "during" depending on its exact sense and context. I'mnot asking for your own comments specifically on this matter as such, only for some advice on how to get the attention of the editors most concerned about sense properties in case you aren't among them.

And if youthink I'm biting off a bigger chunk of work than I can chew and swallow with this modest proposal, just wait until I tell you about my anticipated Project Lexodus (expelling all language-specific properties such as demonyms and pronunciation audio samples from Wikibase item space). That will rock Wikidata in its foundations and probably require at least one Phabricator ticketǃ--SM5POR (talk) 13:57, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

Thankyou

Just wanted to say thank you for the work you do with "property proposals" :-) keep up the good work Back ache (talk) 11:13, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

Back ache, thanks for your trust and appreciation. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 12:53, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

Meurgorf

Hi,

First I wanted to thank you for the creation of Meurgorf identifier (P12761) (and many other properties).

I have a question about formatter URL (P1630), can I add two values? Meurgorf interface is bilingual, there is https://niverel.brezhoneg.bzh/br/meurgorf/$1 in Breton and https://niverel.brezhoneg.bzh/fr/meurgorf/$1 in French. I'm not sure how two values would work exactly... I've seen in done on other properties like Finnish MP ID (P2181) but it violates the constraint, I guess I can add the Breton interface as preferred, what do you think?

Cheers, VIGNERON (talk) 13:19, 29 May 2024 (UTC)

@VIGNERON: both added. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 13:22, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
Thanks again! Cheers, VIGNERON (talk) 13:31, 29 May 2024 (UTC)

I don't understand this alias

"Not recognized by" doesn't seem to makes sense with any of the allowed values of the qualifier. Swpb (talk) 13:41, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

@Swpb:, thanks you for notice, it's my bad, that shouldn't be there. It was added based on a RfC. However, I've removed that alias from there. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 18:00, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
