Motivation edit

Archive of Our Own (Q27764876) has a large community of volunteer "tag wranglers" that try to organize/manage canonical identifiers for groups of fanworks. It would be useful to be able to join these with Wikidata. These identifiers generally map to fictional works/characters but also can map to larger concepts or real people. If you want a sense of the kinds of tags you can see the main organization at https://archiveofourown.org/media BrokenSegue (talk) 08:00, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(moved from description) Archive of Our Own (Q27764876) is the largest open source repository of fanworks on the Internet. Works are tagged in various dimensions by authors and the tags are grouped, 'wrangled' and 'canonicalized' into a hierarchical system (e.g. character is from this work which is from this genre).
