Motivation
editI could not find an existing property for the serving temperature of a dish, but I found it quite prominently on Wikipedia's Infobox Food (I think some other properties from there are also still missing in Wikidata?). It's the first time I am opening a property proposal, so please let me know if I need to work more on this.
Discussion
edit- Support I've changed the datatype to "item", hope that's okay. This could also be expressed using subclass of (P279), but having a dedicated property looks like cleaner modelling. hot beverage (Q19359564) uses has characteristic (P1552)hot (Q28128222), but that's also not that clean. --Marsupium (talk) 13:46, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

- Support After creation, maybe need to create a special abuse filter to prevent it from being added to the character item. Catherine Laurence (discussion) 13:45, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose Not only have I had sandwiches with hot contents, but this would be better held as a temperature range. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:44, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Pigsonthewing: Hm, I think it will be hard to impossible to find sources for temperature ranges? --Marsupium (talk) 11:14, 11 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Pigsonthewing: How about a new property for the recommended storing temperature which can have temperature ranges? Germartin1 (talk) 11:55, 17 November 2019 (UTC)

- Support if there are cold and hot sandwiches, the item can have multiple values. Add lukewarm (Q71410906) as a value Germartin1 (talk) 11:47, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
- Support, I'm not working with the culinary topics but the idea is nice. --Wolverène (talk) 01:22, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- Support Seems sensible and straightforward to reference. Swpb (talk) 14:58, 27 December 2019 (UTC)
