Discussion
edit- Support, an important property for geography.--Arbnos (talk) 17:27, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose redundant, can be queried using the "country" propertyGermartin1 (talk) 12:45, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Germartin1: you mean this would be an inverse statement to country (P17) on the proposed items being linked? In that sense yes this is not really necessary, though I think you'd need another mechanism for identifying items of this type (which could be done with appropriate instance of (P31) statements I guess?) - Oppose - too vague description of the property. What kind of subgroups? Will children, illiterate, women, red haired people, socialists, smiths, jews, chronic ill, football players, or happy people qualify as subgroups? Does a group of 2, 10 or 200 people qualify? --Dipsacus fullonum (talk) 19:53, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Dipsacus fullonum: Good question, but it should be possible to make a reasonable rule for this. For example, it could qualify whenever there is reliable official data (e.g. from a census bureau or comparable) for that specific group. But even then this might be difficult, as age groups would qualify in most cases, then. Not sure if that would be reasonable for Wikidata to include all this data.
