Motivation edit

Some works quote words from others. This is distinct to samples from work (P5707) (which is the same but for audio) and to other properties for derivative works (which generally imply that a lot of the original work is present). Jc86035 (talk) 11:35, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion edit

Comment Not so much a comment as a question: Could this maybe be made more general by renaming it as "contains reference to"? Then it wouldn't be limited to other creative works, but would include things like events, places, concepts, etc. as well. Just a thought. Moebeus (talk) 12:54, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Moebeus: The property I'm proposing would be for direct quotations, so maybe different properties for "mentions" or "mentioned by" would be appropriate (a work might be too long for "mentions", and a concept might be too commonly mentioned to use "mentioned by").
