@Geanixx: As far as I can tell, these shouldn't be deleted. The old sitelinks seem to redirect to a page which talks about four lakes, is that right? If so, we will need four separate items in order to store the coordinates and (later on once we have unit support) things like the area. The new item can link to the four separate lakes using has part(s) (P527) and if the labels are wrong, they should probably be changed. :) - Nikki (talk) 15:16, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
Some background for the request: It is correct that the old sitelinks are redirects to the Wikipedia-pages no:Trollabotsvotni and nn:Trollabotsvotni, which is about a group of small lakes collectively known by that name. Originally there were separate wp-pages for each lake (four on nn, and four on no), but the problem is that according to the available maps these lakes do not have separate names. The original pages (which are now redirects) were written by a user that is no longer active on wp and not available for comment. They were named by giving additions to the collective name, according to their position relative to each other (nedre=lower, midtre=middle, øvre=upper, nest øverste=second from the top). I can find no references to support that these names has ever been in normal use, they only exists as the names of these wikipedia-pages and as far as I can tell they are made-up. Based on this I created the new pages mentioned above, and changed the original pages to redirects.
I am not that familiar with the rules of Wikidata, but given that the names are inventions it seems to me that the best solution would be to delete these items. No information would be lost, as coordinates and so forth are still there in the two wp-articles (Although not on Wikidata). And if the lakes some time in the future should obtain separate names, it would be easy to create new items for each one. Geanixx (talk) 23:03, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
@Geanixx: Thanks for the extra information! :) I've linked them together like I mentioned and added descriptions for English. It's not really a problem that they don't have separate names. Help:Label doesn't seem to say anything about cases like that, but the label field is not actually required anyway (clearly, since there are no labels set right now :)).
Deleting them would mean the information would be lost from Wikidata, which is what is relevant here. Wikidata aims to provide machine-readable structured data (Wikipedia is easy for humans to understand, but hard for a computer) and saying that the information is not lost would be like saying that information is not lost from Wikipedia if it's available in another language - technically that's true, but it's not very useful if you can't read the other language. - Nikki (talk) 03:37, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
