Task/s: Updating sitelinks of moved pages
Function details: Similar in purpose to Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Bot/BetaBot/2, though possibly different implementations. I initially coded this in the rewrite of my code for this task, since I noticed that some of the pages for which sitelinks were removed were moved prior to the deletion. About a day or so after I finished coding this new section, I saw thay BetaBot had a similar request open, though I had problems with mine due to a PyWikipedia bug. I've since completed the implementation of task 4 in the code and located the bug, but still decided to make this request for two main reasons:
- To avoid removing sitelinks and making false alarms (RFDs that should be not done)
- I might be able to use part of the code to help clear up the backlog of such moves from earlier, since my code is somewhat flexible.
The bot is currently running trial alongside task 4, where it first processes moved pages then deleted pages for each site. — Hazard-SJ ✈ 06:18, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Request Could you please list the tasks that are already approved on the User:Hazard-Bot page. It makes it so much easier to keep track of who is doing what. Sven Manguard Wha? 06:37, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Commentdoes it check each site based on time or number of movements?
- for example 2 days ago in fa.wiki we had 5000 move and deletes by Admin-bot (because of incorrect characters) and they should be corrected here.
- Yes, it checks based on time, so over time I plan to run through the backlogs of those that might been skipped from maybe about January. — Hazard-SJ ✈ 01:49, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- please do a favor with this code or similar code to check
{{Category redirect}}
categories to edit their links in wikidata▬ Reza1615 / T 09:24, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]- Do you mean checking periodically and removing category redirects? If so, I could do that in another (but less frequent) task. — Hazard-SJ ✈ 01:49, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Question How do you find the new page title, with the redirect target or by the entry in the move log? Trivial: can the edit summary include links to the page that got moved? (Bot: en:Page_1 moved to en:Page_2) --β16 - (talk) 09:42, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Actually, I use the API which gives me all of that, then I run some backup checks like whether the old page still exists, but redirects to a different page or is no longer a redirect etc. Also, re the edit summary, it is possible, and I could implement it if the community so desires. — Hazard-SJ ✈ 01:49, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Ok, thanks! --β16 - (talk) 17:23, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
