I have made over 100 entries to wikidata and intend to continue more. I also have been making sure about the accuracy and am autopatrolled on Wikimedia Commons. Thanks. WorldTraveller101 ? 22:00, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- Done and thanks for contributing! --Tobias1984 (talk) 22:02, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- Note This user is currently in a global adoption and this rights request goes against our adoption agreement. The user has been warned against requesting any rights as there were issues with perceived hat collecting. This will only add to those issues and the right needs to be revoked. Dusti*poke* 22:14, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- Autopatrolled is assigned on Wikidata to denote that the user can be trusted to make good edits. Looking through his contributions, I don't think that the candidate will be making bad edits, so I don't want to need to patrol his edits. Tobias1984 seems to have reached the same conclusion. There is no reason to remove this flag, though we certainly won't grant other requests for rollback and such given the situation. Ajraddatz (Talk) 22:24, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- Can we get a link to the discussion just for reference? --Tobias1984 (talk) 22:29, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- User discussions are located on en:User talk:WorldTraveller101 as well as our adoption area here. He will be coming on and formally withdrawing the request and/or formally asking for the removal of the right if that's requested. Dusti*poke* 22:31, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

I formally withdraw the request. Thanks. WorldTraveller101 ? 22:38, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- I guess done pre-emptively. I am however starting to regret my earlier removal of the rights as extremely inappropriate. John F. Lewis (talk) 22:42, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- I think arguments could be made both ways in terms of restoring the right or removing it, but I think it's clear that further rights requests should not be granted in the short-term future. --Rschen7754 22:49, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- I will not be requesting anytime soon. I agree with Rschen7754. Thanks. WorldTraveller101 ? 22:53, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- I personally think it's fine for WorldTraveller101 to request rights, but at this time, if and only if his mentors give their express permission and endorsement.--Jasper Deng (talk) 23:32, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Errrm… getting autopatrolled here makes certainly no difference to the user who holds it and just reduces vandal fighter's workload. I find it highly inappropriate to come over from a different project just to achieve removal of a completely irrelevant right from an account. Most autopatrollers got the right without even asking for it. I fully agree with Ajraddatz above and this here is almost ridiculous, seriously. Vogone talk 13:18, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- I totally agree. --Stryn (talk) 13:47, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- There is no real need to discuss any anymore. If you think this is 'ridiculous' then ignore it and it will be forgotten as there is absolutely no need to discuss it any further. John F. Lewis (talk) 13:52, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- The point of the removal of the rights was that WorldTraveller101 (talk • contribs • logs) is in adoption with me - and our global adoption agreement includes no rights requesting. This specifically went against our agreement, and was one of the basis' for his block on another project. It's a very serious issue that needs to be addressed. John was acting on the assumption that I, as WT101's adopter, was going to have WT101 give up his flags as they were requested out of line with our adoption. I thank those above who are attempting to assist with his adoption, and I thank WT101 for withdrawing his request. Now that that's been done, I believe this is a closed matter. Dusti*poke* 15:17, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- I too have nothing else to say. I did forget to ask Dusti before asking, but it was a) a legit request and b) my "rights requests" are being put on a naughty list" on Meta where 99% of the users on such lists are vandals that have evaded global locks. I will not re-request, I concur with Dusti and will work with him on my adoption. Thanks. WorldTraveller101 ? 15:25, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- I want to add that this whole discussion is contraproductive. Autopatrolled is not any special right. It basically means "not a vandalizer". WorldTraveller101 did not vandalize anything in his first 100 edits, so that means he can be autopatrolled. As long as he isn't globally banned he has every right to contribute in other places. And frankly I still don't understand what adoption, hat-collecting and having a wiki-ban have anything to do with this discussion. --Tobias1984 (talk) 15:34, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

FYI, my "Ban" is actually a block expiring in 6 weeks and I am autopatrolled on Commons, albeit as said, I do not wish to regain autopatrolled. Thanks. WorldTraveller101 ? 16:04, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
Note I have reinstated the right as it helps nobody to have to patrol WorldTraveller101's edits. Thank you. Vogone talk 16:07, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- The user has explicitly requested to not have the right, so you're going to wheelwar to re-instate it? Dusti*poke* 16:28, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- As I said, it's a service to our vandal fighters, not to WorldTraveller101. Vogone talk 16:29, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- You cannot force a user to have a flag they have explicitly requested to not have - regardless of whomever it may be a service to. Dusti*poke* 16:33, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- This is nonsense. It's like requesting to set an abuse filter so that the software removes autoconfirmed. Vogone talk 16:35, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- It's actually not nonsense. There is a very specific reason he's requesting to not have the flag - however, you alone are trying to force him to have that flag. You are interfering with his adoption and my ability to facilitate his adoption. I'm trying to teach him that you don't have to have flags to edit, be productive, and be collaborative - as that is/was his mindset. However, you're now showing him that he has to have these flags to do so. Good job, really - bravo. Dusti*poke* 16:42, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

I am recomeding User:André Costa (WMSE) as autopatrolled. He uses this account as employed by Wikimedia Sweden. His ordinary account (which I do not know if he wants to reveal) is already autopatrolled and he is trusted as sysop on Commons. -- Lavallentalk(block) 15:38, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
