I need the rights because I'm acting as project manager for the "Wikidata:WikiProject Performing arts" project and we have committed to the Wikimedia Foundation, among others, to translate the wikiproject into French. To do so, I need to be able to act as Translation Administrator. Thank you for your support. --Vero Marino (talk) 22:12, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

- @Vero Marino: do you have any experience with the translation extension? --DannyS712 (talk) 00:22, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- she want to do a proper translation of her/their project and thought it was the way to do it (research admin access). Does she right? If not, how she/they can do it ? (personnaly, I do it by hand). Simon Villeneuve (talk) 01:33, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- @Simon Villeneuve anyone is able to translate pages, this right is just used to manage which pages are set up for translation DannyS712 (talk) 02:16, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- @DannyS712 : Ok. So, where we ask the "permission" to translate the page and subpages of Wikidata:WikiProject Performing arts? Here ?
Ok, I saw the answer above. Simon Villeneuve (talk) 13:37, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

- Oppose I do not see any need for this since Wikidata:WikiProject Performing arts is marked for translation. --Ameisenigel (talk) 08:13, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- Weak oppose by Ameisenigel --ZabeMath (talk) 18:08, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

- If you just want to have Wikidata:WikiProject Performing arts marked for translation you can request it at Wikidata:Translators' noticeboard. For the translation itself no special rights are required. --Ameisenigel (talk) 07:21, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- @Ameisenigel:Is it normal to have no answer? Simon Villeneuve (talk) 16:25, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- I have answered but no one of us is active 24/7, so it may just take some time. --Ameisenigel (talk) 08:11, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- It's done now. Thank you to all--Vero Marino (talk) 15:09, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- @Vero Marino does that mean you want to withdraw this request? DannyS712 (talk) 15:57, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- @DannyS712 As mentioned I don't want to become a translation administrator "at large" because my need is specific to the Performing arts project. This is the only place where I need to be able to mark content for translation and @Ameisenigel seems to have done it so I will be able to focus on the translation now as it is free to access. If you feel that I should pursue the request to further my goal of translating the project, I "ll leave it up to you but otherwise we can close this request.--Vero Marino (talk) 13:45, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
