Wikiprojects translation

It would be great if we could translate pages like WikiProject Taxonomy. author  TomT0m / talk page 10:40, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

@TomT0m: This is already done for some projects and it's not problem to add more but I usually wait for a wish (some WikiProject pages have issues like list of participants not present in a subpage). If you have a WikiProject that you believe to be translated, you can wrap it into <translate> tag and some translation administrator will mark it. Matěj Suchánek (talk) 16:17, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
@Matěj Suchánek: I guess it could be useful if this was written down somewhere of if you could be a little more proactive in this as I'm not sure a lot of users are aware of this :) And it could be a love killer for non english speaking potential contributors ... author  TomT0m / talk page 09:39, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
One more for WikiProject Movies … user's won't do that themselves, I do it for someone who asked a movie question in the fr chat … author  TomT0m / talk page 11:02, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. I also prepared the Tools and Propertis subpages … author  TomT0m / talk page 15:47, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Best way to translate templates

Hi translators, I don't know if it's the right place to ask, so I ask : I use {{TranslateThis}} to make template translatable. Should I use <translate>...</translate> instead ? (see for example {{Participants}} and the templates it uses ... author  TomT0m / talk page 11:13, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

It's possible but when you create such a template, you should create "/text" subpage which should be wrapped into these tags, and the template itself holds just this code: {{ {{#ifexist:Template:TEMPLATE_NAME/text/{{int:Lang}}| TEMPLATE_NAME/text/{{int:Lang}} | TEMPLATE_NAME/text/en}} }}. Matěj Suchánek (talk) 11:29, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
Note that you can also use {{LangSwitch}} (same as {{TranslateThis}} but it doesn't ask for translation). Matěj Suchánek (talk) 11:33, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Convert this page to Flow?

I proposed to convert this page to a Flow board. Any users oppose?--GZWDer (talk) 07:24, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

I'm opposed to it for the reasons other people gave on Wikidata:Contact_the_development_team#Convert_this_page_to_Flow.3F. - Nikki (talk) 09:01, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
@Nikki: I don't agree, this page, as a project page and a moderately active one, non critical, is actually imho a good candidate to explore Flows weaknesses and advantages and to make useful comments for developpers. Flows has a number of useful feature (close of topics with a summary for example) that could prove usefuls in pages like this one.
Plenty of issues are already being found (including some pretty big ones like Flow pages not appearing on watchlists). The proposal on Wikidata:Project chat#Flow was to test Flow on a restricted set of pages, the list did not include any of the noticeboards like this one and I wouldn't have supported it if it had. I don't think it's appropriate to use the noticeboards for testing, they are too prominently linked. - Nikki (talk) 10:10, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
@NikkiPlenty of issues are already being found The one you mention just after in the only real one if confirmed. The others are just users not used to Flow yet, if you look more closely, and the number of people who does returns stuffs is ridiculously small compared to the number of happy silent one. As I said as a non critical board (important, but non critical, the project can leave with a broken help page translation) , this one seems to me like the perfect one to test Flow in adminship situations. author  TomT0m / talk page 10:34, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
