Translation pages update
FYI FuzzyBot just updated a few hundreds pages to make us fully benefit from Glaisher's recent bug fixes. See phabricator:T48716#2203121. --Nemo 08:55, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
How to translate a template subpage (documentation)
Hello, I tried to translate the documentation of Template:Claim but withtout any success. Could you tell me how to proceed? Pamputt (talk) 08:13, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Pamputt: What was the point that made you think you hadn't succeeded? Matěj Suchánek (talk) 20:30, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Matěj Suchánek: the languages choice was not displayed in the main page: Template:Claim (it was only displayed within the doc page). So I thought that this was not the way to do. Pamputt (talk) 20:57, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
- That's okay, the languages table is relative to the page you are viewing (so you shouldn't see it anyway). Only marking for translation is not enough here. As there are no translatable /doc subpages yet, there are two possible ways to enforce it: either by splitting the real text into a /doc/text subpage (the usual way), or by making transluding it dynamic directly in the main template. Matěj Suchánek (talk) 05:55, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation. Do you have an example for the first solution (/doc/text subpage)? Like that I would be able to reproduce it Pamputt (talk) 15:44, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- There are not any with "/doc" yet. You can take a look on the most recently converted Template:Historical + Template:Historical/text and alter it with "/doc". Matěj Suchánek (talk) 16:44, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- Can other translation admins comment on Template talk:Property documentation last topic ? this is related. Doc on properties is on talk pages so it seems we can't translate them with this kind of trick. author TomT0m / talk page 17:09, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- Why couldn't that be on a subpage of the property? Sorry for not noticing that earlier, I'm no longer maintaining the template. Matěj Suchánek (talk) 18:32, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- It's not possible. We can't (or I could not) create subpages of a property. author TomT0m / talk page 18:47, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
- But thinking about it, there is some consistency in using the help namespace for instructions. Way more than using a talk page actually. author TomT0m / talk page 18:49, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

sitelink of success (Q7632586) to enwiki
Hello mr or mrs,
I think that Luck is the wrong sitelink to this. Due to doubleuse I can not change it to success.
Thank you :) – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wikingonroughsee (talk • contribs) at 17. 5. 2016, 22:51 (UTC).
- Not done Sitelink "Success" should stay where it is because it is a Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410). Matěj Suchánek (talk) 14:21, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Hello, I started to translate this RfC. Howerver, I think there is a problem with my way to do. Indeed, the English version will evolve while other versions are frozen. I mean that people votes on the English page do not appear on the page in other languages. What is the more elegant way to translate stable content of a page without freezing the content of the page when people add comments? Pamputt (talk) 22:24, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
{{LangSwitch}}
,{{TranslateThis}}
. Matěj Suchánek (talk) 06:13, 28 May 2016 (UTC)- Indeed, thank you. Pamputt (talk) 07:59, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
Other question, it seems that there exists a bug on Wikidata:Requests for comment/Standards for property proposal discussions. Indeed, I removed all the « translate » tag within the page to replace them by « LangSwitch » and I still see on the top of the page the message saying the the page as been modified since the last time it has been marked for translation. If I click on « , I arrive on an error page. Is it a known problem or should it be reported on Phabricator? Pamputt (talk) 08:42, 29 May 2016 (UTC)
- Fixed, there was still one <translate> leftover and the page had to unmarked via Special:PageTranslation. Matěj Suchánek (talk) 08:46, 29 May 2016 (UTC)
- Ah thanks I did not know for Special:PageTranslation. Pamputt (talk) 11:14, 29 May 2016 (UTC)
